09-021/16 - 2016 MX-5 - CONVERTIBLE TOP INNER CLOTH FALLING DOWN CAUSING
POOR APPEARANCE AND OBSTRUCTING VIEW OF BACK WINDOW
SUMMARY: Some vehicles may exhibit the inner cloth (A) falling down at the rear end causing a
poor appearance and obstructing the view of the back window.

09-022/16 - 2013-2016 CX-5 - A-PILLAR TRIM DISTORTION
SUMMARY: Some customers may complain of the poor appearance of the passenger and/or driver
side A-pillar trim. The lower portion of the trim may become distorted (as shown below) due to
high temperatures.

SUMMARY: Some vehicles may experience one of the following 2 symptoms, even though the
windshield is clear:
Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) warning light turns ON while stopping or driving
at a very slow speed. DTC C1001:92 (Poor functioning of Forward Sensing Camera (FSC))
is stored in memory.
High Beam Control (HBC) System warning light turns ON while stopping or driving at a
very slow speed. DTC C1001:92 (Poor functioning of Forward Sensing Camera (FSC)) is
stored in memory.

09-019/16 - 2016 MX-5 - CONSOLE MAT WARPING CAUSING POOR APPEARANCE
SUMMARY: Some vehicles operating in places with high ambient temperatures may exhibit the
console mat warping at the center part (A), causing a poor appearance. The console mat is fixed
at both ends and warpage of the center part is caused by heat influence.

CONVERTIBLE TOP
SUMMARY: Some vehicles may exhibit scratches (A) on the rear of the seat back bar garnish (B)
from contact with the convertible top (C).

SUMMARY: Beginning with the CX-5 and Mazda6 models, grip type front and rear stabilizer
bushings have been incorporated for noise prevention purposes. If any type of grease or
lubrication is applied to the bushings, it may create noise due to bushing slippage (CX-5 bushings
shown below).

03-002/16 - 2006-2013 MX-5 - WHINING NOISE FROM REAR DIFFERENTIAL
SUMMARY: Some vehicles may exhibit a whining noise from the rear differential when driving.
The concern may be caused by improper tooth contact pattern of the rear differential gear from
abnormal wear. This abnormal wear is caused by gear tooth lapping compound (used during the
production) being left on beyond the allowable amount. The production control has been
improved to reduce the amount of remaining lapping compound.

09-017/16 - 2007-2015 CX-9 - RATTLE AND/OR WIND NOISE FROM FRONT DOOR GLASS
AREA
SUMMARY: Some vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise and/or wind noise from the front door glass
area while driving the vehicle. This is caused by a deformed glass run channel (A). The deformed
area is located at the upper rear corner of the run channel and is caused by repeated door glass
closures in very hot climates. The deformed area causes poor contact between the glass run
channel and the door sash, which results in rattle noise and/or wind noise.

LENS
SUMMARY: Some vehicles equipped with LED or Discharge type headlights may exhibit white
milky stains on the inner surface of the headlight lens. Some customers may complain of the poor
appearance.
