This is caused by the gap between the roof molding attachment clips and the roof panel not being wide enough to allow paint to be appropriately applied to the roof panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the roof molding clip has been changed to enable paint application between the clip’s rib and roof during the manufacturing process. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. Page 1 of 4 07/04/2022 08:44 AM cciz REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. 2. Remove the roof molding clips, repair the rusted area, and replace the clips with new ones. a. Remove the roof molding according to the procedure on MGSS (ROOF MOLDING REMOVAL). b. Remove all mounted “Clip A's” from the vehicle. (Two clips for 4-door SD and four clips for 5-door HB). 1 Clip A 2 Clip B 3 Roof Molding 4 Vehicle Front c. Paint the new “Clip A's” with the same paint of the vehicle, and then install “Clip A's” on the rectangular protrusion (1) on the body side. e. Apply adhesive around each clip (1) (on the yellow rectangular areas) after installing “Clip A's” on the vehicle. f. Reinstall the roof molding according to the procedure on MGSS (ROOF MOLDING INSTALLATION). 3. Verify the reapir. PARTS INFORMATION Part Number Description Qty.
