SYMPTOM/CONDITION: Customer may experience MIL illumination. Further investigation by the technician may find one or more of the following DTC(s) present: • • • P2000 - NOX Absorber Efficiency Below Threshold - Bank 1. P2A00 - O2 Sensor 1/1 Circuit Performance. P2A01 - O2 Sensor 1/2 Circuit Performance. DIAGNOSIS: 1. **Complete a Diesel Diagnostic Worksheet per instructions in Service Bulletin 18-045-11 Dated October 19, 2011 and U. S. Warranty Bulletin D-11-55 Dated October, 2011. All DTC's need to be recorded on the WRO and DTC's other than the ones listed above may require additional diagnosis and repair after completing this Bulletin. 25-001-13 REV. A -2- NOTE: O2 sensor fouling may be related to other components that can cause increase sooting. Follow the procedures provided in DealerCONNECT>TechCONNECT>Service Info>Group 28 DTC Based Diagnostics>Module, Engine control (ECM), 6.7L>Standard Procedure>PRE-DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURE, 6.7L or DealerCONNECT>TechCONNECT>Service Info>Group 29 Non-DTC Diagnostics>Drivability - Diesel, 6.7L>Diagnosis and Testing>PRE-DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURE, 6.7L before proceeding with this bulletin. 2. Inspect the front O2 sensor area of the exhaust for the presence of either a wrap or blanket (Fig. 1). Fig. 1 O2 SENSOR WRAP 1 - O2 SENSOR WRAP 3. Part No. Description AR (2) 05149263AA Oxygen Sensors (Do not use earlier versions of O2 sensor when performing this repair. Ensure part number is 05149263AA or higher level). 1 68102274AA Kit, O2 Sensor Heat Shield **AR (1) 52121859AD Clamp, Band - 2010 and 2011 MY only and only until kit 68102274AB or later is available.** REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. 2. If the vehicle is already equipped with a wrap or blanket but this bulletin is being performed because they are damaged, remove the damaged wrap or blanket from the exhaust pipe. 3. Remove both upstream and downstream Oxygen (O2) sensors. 4. Remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to the procedures identified in DealerCONNECT>TechCONNECT>Service Info>11 - Exhaust System>PIPE, Exhaust>Removal>6.7L DIESEL for additional information. 5. Install heat shield (p/n 68102274AA). Refer to the procedures identified in the Instruction Sheet (p/n K6855747) for additional information. NOTE: **The O2 sensor heat shield kit P/N 68102274AA contains band clamp P/N 52121859AC. 2010 and 2011 Model year trucks must use a heavier duty clamp. This clamp part number is 52121859AD. The O2 sensor heat shield kit will soon be updated to supersede from P/N 52121859AC to 52121859AD. Once the kit has been updated, it will no longer be necessary to order turbocharger band clamp 52121859AD separately. Any O2 sensor heat shield kit P/N 68102274AB and beyond will have the updated clamp.** 6. Install the exhaust pipe. Refer to the procedures identified in DealerCONNECT>TechCONNECT>Service Info>11 - Exhaust System>PIPE, Exhaust>Installation>6.7L DIESEL for additional information. 7. Inspect both O2 sensors to ensure that the latest sensors are installed in the vehicle. O2 sensors that have p/n 05149263AA (or later) scribed on the sensor, (Fig. 2) are the newer style sensor. If it is difficult to read the part number, the newer style sensor can easily be identified by the soot shield design on the sensor, (Fig. 3). 25-001-13 REV.
