DIAGNOSIS
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose
the CAN bus line
Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to diagnose the CAN
bus lines.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES : Go to Step 2.
NO : Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP
STEP 3. Check whether the DTC is set again.
(1) Operate the engine switch several times within
five seconds without depressing the brake pedal
to turn ON and OFF the power supply mode.
(2) Check again if the DTC is set in the
KOS&OSS-ECU.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES : Replace the KOS&OSS-ECU and register
the ID codes (Refer to P.42B-76). Then go
to Step 4.
NO : Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer
to GROUP 00 - How to Use
Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction
P.00-16).
54C - Diagnosis P.54C-20).
STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check the
other system DTC.
(1) Check that the vehicle power can be turned ON
and engine is started.
(2) Check the DTC of ECM.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES : Troubleshoot the ECM (Refer to GROUP
13A - Diagnosis P.13A-46). Then go to Step
3.
NO : Go to Step 3.
STEP 4. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the KOS&OSS-ECU.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES : Replace the ECM (Refer to GROUP 13A -
ECM P.13A-807).
NO : Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer
to GROUP 00 - How to Use
Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction
P.00-16).

CAUTION
When replacing the ECU, always check that the
communication circuit is normal.
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
If KOS&OSS-ECU receives wrong signal from the
keyless operation key, KOS&OSS-ECU memorizes
DTC B1A08, B1A09, B1A0A or B1A0B.
PROBABLE CAUSES
• Malfunction of the keyless operation key
• Malfunction of the KOS&OSS-ECU
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Operate the keyless operation key, and
recheck the DTC.
(1) Open the driver's door. 
(2) Operate the keyless operation key as follows:
• Push the lock switch or unlock switch of keyless operation key five times or more.
• When the keyless entry function does not
work after performing the above procedure,
register the key again (Refer to P.42B-72).
(3) Push the lock switch or unlock switch of keyless
operation key.
 (4) Check if the DTC is set.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES : Perform troubleshooting if KOS&OSS-ECU

DTC except No.B1A08, B1A09, B1A0A or
B1A0B is set. Then go to Step 2.
NO : The diagnosis is complete.
