Issue
Symptom:
Misfire fault codes without any audible misfire or performance loss (false misfire).
Fault Codes: 2457, 2533, 2534, 2535, 2536, 2537, 2538, 5895, 5896, 5897, 5898, 5899,
5911, 5914, 6413, 6425, 6426, 6427, 6428, 6429, 6431
Possible low power or derate complaint caused by fault code(s).
Root Cause:
Aftermarket exhaust gas pressure sensor not providing equivalent signal as genuine
Cummins® exhaust gas pressure sensor.
Verification
Verify exhaust gas pressure sensor is a genuine Cummins® part. See Figure 1 in Part
Identification section below.
There is a possibility that aftermarket exhaust gas pressure sensor can have a Cummins®
part number printed on the sensor body. See Figure 2 and 3 in Part Identification section
below.
Service Instructions
If an aftermarket exhaust gas pressure sensor is found, replace with a genuine Cummins®
exhaust gas pressure sensor. See corresponding Service Manual. Reference Procedure 019-376
in Section 19.
