Front Engine Cover Oil Weep
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting and replacing the right side front engine cover gasket if necessary.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA, and
EMEA (Middle East Only).
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after August 19, 2017 (MDH 0819XX) and
on or before August 25, 2017 (MDH 0825XX) equipped with 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine
(Sales Code ERB).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience an oil weep from the right front engine cover.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
TechCONNECT, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom
conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and
repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the
VIN list exhibits the symptom/condition, perform the diagnostic.
1. Install engine oil dye into the engine and verify engine oil weepage at the right side front engine
cover area. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT>
TechCONNECT under: Service Info>09 - Engine, 3.6L/Lubrication/Diagnosis and
Testing>Engine Oil Leak.
2. Is the dye or oil weeping from the right front engine cover?
• YES>>> Proceed to Step 1.
• NO>>> This bulletin has been completed, use inspect LOP (09-60-01-9D) to close the active
RRT.
