BULLETIN NOTES This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. Previous TSBs: Date(s) Issued: 07-003/22 08/22/22 APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS 2016-2022 CX-9 DESCRIPTION Some customers may complain about poor A/C performance due to low refrigerant. This may be caused by one of two things. Cause 1: [For 2016-2022 CX-9 with VINS lower than JM3TC******617612 (produced before April 7, 2022)] The condenser is corroded causing leakage of the A/C refrigerant. To eliminate this concern, the anti-corrosion performance of the condenser tube has been improved. Cause 2: [For all 2016-2022 CX-9] The low-temperature side outlet pipe leading to the evaporator of the air conditioner condenser has deteriorated because the structure around the outlet pipe on the low-temperature side of the air conditioner condenser allows mud and salt water to adhere easily. There is no mass production change, but an improved condenser was designed as needed. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. Page 1 of 3 10/20/2022 11:42 AM cciz REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. 2. [For Cause 1] Check for A/C refrigerant leak as shown in the area (1) without stone chipping damage. [For Cause 2] Use a gas leak tester or a fluorescent agent-detecting UV black light to check if there is a leak from the condensor (1) from the area shown (2) in the figure. Cause 1 Cause 2 • If gas leaks from one of these areas, replace the condensor with a modified one. 2016-2020 CX-9 (CONDENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION) 2021-2022 CX-9 (CONDENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION) • If there is no gas leak from these areas, troubleshoot the poor A/C performance according to the instructions on MGSS. ○ ○ 3. Verify the repair. PARTS INFORMATION Parts Number Description Qty.
