Condition
Customer states:
No customer concerns. The following condition is found during PDI or any other diagnostic work.
Workshop findings:
The following DTC is stored in the Brake Electronics control unit, -J104- (address word 0003):
C11EA12: Sensor for roof rack recognition Short circuit to B+, active/static
Technical Background
Due to a compatibility issue between the G625 Roof Rack Recognition Sensor and the J104 Brake Electronics
this DTC can set. It is a ghost DTC and can be ignored. No warnings are illuminated in the instrument
cluster. The test plan for this DTC should only be performed if there is a customer concern.
Production Solution
An alternative version of the G625 Roof Rack Recognition Sensor to correct this compatibility issue has been
implemented in production.
Service
Do not replace any components should this DTC appear. As soon as further information is known, this TSB will
be updated. Replacement of any component will not eliminate this DTC.
If the test plan is populated for this DTC it is tagged ‘
unauthorized’ to indicate an over-read permission
when this DTC is stored.
