Bulletin No.: PIP5852B Published date: 03/3/2023 Preliminary Information PIP5852B Service Engine Soon Light/Message with DTCs P0606 or P0607 in the TCM Models Brand: Chevrolet Model: Corvette Model Years: 2020 - 2023 VIN: from All Engine: to All All Transmissions: M1L Involved Region or Country North America, Europe, Middle East, Israel, Palestine, Japan, Thailand, Australia/New Zealand Service engine tell-tale or message with stored TCM DTCs or P0606 and or P0607 Condition Cause TCM Software anomaly Some customers may comment on a service engine telltale, Service transmission message or even a transmission hot message with or without a squealing noise immediately after starting the engine. When scanning the vehicle for DTCs the technician may find P0700 stored in the ECM and P0606 OR P0607 stored in the TCM in history either by itself or with other "P" Codes. This condition will be present on vehicle start up and NOT when the vehicle is in motion. The transmission hot message and possible noise are default actions of the DTC as the TCM is in a defaulted state and may not be controlling line pressure and transmission may be operating a max line pressure. If the TCM has either the P0606 or P0607 set CURRENT by itself, continue with published diagnostics in Service Information. The condition should be resolved by allowing the vehicle to go through a complete sleep cycle (i.e. 15 minutes). This is something the customer can complete if they experience the condition again before the correction is available. If the TCM has either the P0606 or P0607 in HISTORY with other "P" DTCs (ie: P07E5 P07E6), those codes are a byproduct of the controller state. DO NOT REPLACE THE TCM FOR A P0606/P0607 WHEN OTHER "P" CODES ARE PRESENT or when the P0606/P0607 ARE IN HISTORY. If the P0606/P0607 are in history, clear codes and test drive the vehicle to make sure no DTCs return. If no DTCs return, return the vehicle to the customer and explain that GM is currently investigating and developing a repair. There is currently nothing to suggest this condition will present while the vehicle is moving, the condition is entered during the engine start process. This PI will be updated when a repair is available. Warranty Information For vehicles repaired under the Powertrain coverage, use the following labor operation. Reference the Applicable Warranties section of Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) for coverage information.
