Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) Low Oil Pressure REFERENCE: TSB: 09-006-23 GROUP 09 - Engine VEHICLES AFFECTED: 2022 - 2023 (B1) Jeep Renegade 2022 - 2023 (H1) Jeep Commander 2022 - 2023 (M1) Jeep Compass This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 1.3L I4 Turbo Mair DI Eng w/ESS E100 (Sales Code EYJ): • M1 built on or after April 28, 2021 (MDH 0428XX) and built on or before **January 28, 2023 (MDH 0128XX)**. • H1 built on or after **October 02, 2021 (MDH 1002XX) and built on or before January 30, 2023 (MDH 0130XX)**. • B1 built on or after January 14, 2022 (MDH 0114XX) and built on or before **January 27, 2023 (MDH 0127XX)**. This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 1.3L I4 Turbo Mair DI Engine w/ESS (Sales Code EYF): • M1 built on or after **November 12, 2021 (MDH 1112XX) and built on or before December 19, 2022 (MDH 1219XX)**. • H1 built on or after March 25, 2022 (MDH 0325XX) and built on or before August 24, 2022 (MDH 0824XX). This bulletin applies to B1 vehicles built on or after **February 11, 2022 (MDH 0211XX) and built on or before December 20, 2022 (MDH 1220XX)** equipped with a 1.3L I4 Turbo Mair DI Engine (Sales Code EYH). Date: February 17, 2023 REVISION: 09-008-22 REV. A MARKET APPLICABILITY: □NA □MEA HSA □IAP □EE □CH CUSTOMER SYMPTOM: Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) has been set: • P06DD - Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Stuck Off. Customers may also comment on the following: • vehicle will not be able to exceed 3,300 RPM (when DTC P06DD is active). CAUSE: Oil pump This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 09-008-22 REV. A, date of issue September 27, 2022, which should be removed from your files. All revisions are highlighted with **asterisks** and include updated build dates. This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 22-176, date of issue September 24, 2022. All applicable Sold and Un-Sold RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library. All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty. This RSU will expire 18 months after the date of issue. SPARE PARTS: Notes DIAGNOSIS: Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/ Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. This RSU only applies to the vehicles on the RSU VIN list. -3- 09-006-23 REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Using wiTECH check if DTC P06DD is set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). 2. Was DTC P06DD found in the PCM? • • 3. 4. YES>>> Replace the timing chain cover. Proceed to Step 6. NO>>> Proceed to Step 3. Start the engine at let it run at idle until the engine oil temperature reaches more than 85° C (185° F). Create a graph of “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” and review the value. If it shows anything but “0”, the timing cover needs to be replaced (Fig. 1) . NOTE: The “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” value can change quickly, less than 20 seconds, then the oil pump (timing chain) is faulty and will need to be replaced. Did the “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” value read anything but “0”? • YES>>> Create a screen shot of the graph showing values other than “0” and attach it to the work order. Proceed to Step 6. • NO>>> If the value always shows “0” and DTC P06DD was not found, this bulletin has been completed. Use inspection LOP (09-65-01-A2) to close the active RSU. 6. Replace the timing chain cover. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/ Service Library under: 09 - Engine, 1.3L I4 16V Multi Air Turbo / Valve Timing / Cover (s), Engine Timing / Removal and Installation. 7. Using wiTECH clean any DTCs that may have been set. POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
