Service Bulletin Bulletin No.: 22-NA-079 Date: April, 2023 TECHNICAL Subject: Poor Engine Performance in Extremely Cold Weather Conditions for LSY Engines, Charge Air Cooler Icing, Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated with P0299 Brand: Model: Buick Envision Model Year: from to 2021 2023 VIN: from Engine: Transmission: to LSY Involved Region or Country North America Additional Options (RPOs) Equipped with LSY Engines only Condition Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions when driving in extremely cold weather conditions (-18°C or less / 0°F or less): • Loss of power • Hesitation on acceleration • Stalling condition • Malfunction Indicator Lamp illuminated P0299 Cause This condition may be caused by ice accumulation in the charge air cooler (CAC), restricting air flow. In the event of a conflict between the procedures set forth in this bulletin and the laws that apply to your dealership, you must follow those applicable laws. Instructions for installation are included with the grille cover. The cover can be installed by the technician initially but the technician needs to educate the customer on the removal process after the winter season ends and how the customer will reinstall the cover the following winter season. One time installation of the winter grille cover is covered under warranty. This can be installed and charged to the unique labor operation code provided in this bulletin. Bulletin No.: 22-NA-079 Important: The winter grille cover should be installed in extreme cold weather and removed when the winter season changes.
