Condition
Some customers may comment that the Universal Garage Door Opener will not train
when correctly following the steps outlined in the Owner Manual.
Cause
The cause of the condition may be that the instructions differ from the Owner Manual.
Correction
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, do not replace any parts. Instruct the
customer to replace step #2 of the Programming the Universal Remote System in the
Owner Manual from:
• Press and release one of the three Universal Remote system buttons to be
programmed. Press and hold the hand-held transmitter button. Do not release the
hand-held transmitter button until the indicator light changes from a slow to a rapid
flash or continuous light. Then release the hand-held transmitter button.
To:
• At the same time, press and hold both the hand-held transmitter button and one of the
three Universal Remote system buttons to be used to operate the garage door. Do not
release either button until the indicator light changes from a slow to a rapid flash.
The customer can then resume the programming instructions at step #3 in the Owner
Manual.
