Bluetooth Compatibility
Have you ever wondered if a cellphone is compatible with a VW Bluetooth capable radio?
Wonder no more. The Bluetooth compatibility checker Web site helps fix compatibility issues and
shows you which devices are functionally compatible with each VW and each radio option for a
model. And, the compatibility checker is convenient and easy to use!
To use the checker, go to http://web.vw.com/bluetoothchecker/. Next, choose your VW and
Bluetooth device. Now, you can see if the device will communicate with the VW as well as the
device’s abilities.
Feedback Corner
The Quality Rewards program is still going strong! Don't forget that you can still earn Generation
VW Bucks for each feedback that you send in. The Generation VW Bucks will automatically be
added to your account and can be used for a variety of awesome prizes. So far we have already
given away over 140,000 Generation VW Bucks!
This week’s feedback is from Shawn, regarding a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen Repair Manual. He
states:
"When looking over ElsaWeb to remove and install A rear wheel bearing, something seems to
be lost in translation. The first initial step states "Make sure that wheel hubs/wheel bearing unit
do not cant!" This step seems to be misprinted as this is not helpful information. "
This feedback was reviewed by the Service Information Team and was fixed to include the correct
information in the note. Shawn included his full name and email address with the feedback and
will be receiving Generation VW Bucks for helping improve the quality of the repair information.

When adapting keys on a vehicle equipped with KESSY, it is recommended to remove the
immobilizer reader coil from behind round cover on steering column trim and insert key
inside the reader coil. The steering column trim does not need to be completely removed to
access reader coil. For vehicles with the Start/Stop button on the steering column, the
Start/Stop button assembly can be removed from column trim without disassembling trim.
Start/Stop button connector must be disconnected to allow reader coil to be removed from
around button assembly. Start/Stop button should be reconnected during key adaptation.
