When pulling away there is a one-off cracking noise from the front after changing direction.

Relative movement of the drive axle in the wheel bearings.
Production Solution
Improved drive axles were gradually introduced in production.

1. Follow instructions according to Elsa at Repair Manual, Chassis >> Suspension, Wheels, Steering >> 40
Front Suspension >> Front Axle >> Drive Axle >> Drive Axle Disassembling, Assembling.
2. Disassemble the affected drive axle.
3. Apply liquid locking fluid as shown in
Figure 1 (red lines around the
threaded connection).

4. Reinstall the drive axle according to ELSA instructions.
Warning:
After assembling the drive axle(s), the vehicle must not be operated for 8 hours.

• 110 up to 48 Months/50,000 Miles.
• G10 for CPO Covered Vehicles – Verify Owner.
