Issue: Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles built on or before 18-Sept-2022 may exhibit a broken parking brake switch.
The original parking brake switch design is no longer available. For vehicles within this build date that require parking
brake switch replacement, follow the Service Procedure to install a steering column opening cover which will come
with a new and improved parking brake switch design.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
• 2021-2022 Bronco
• Built on or before 18-Sept-2022
• Broken parking brake switch

If Needed indicates the part is not mandatory.
Warranty Status: Eligible under provisions of New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW)/Service Part Warranty
(SPW)/Special Service Part (SSP)/Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage. Limits/policies/prior approvals are not
altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SSP/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified
using the OASIS part coverage tool.

1. Is the vehicle currently equipped with the pull-up style parking brake switch? Refer to Figures 1-2.

(1). Yes – vehicle has the pull-up style parking brake switch. Proceed to Step 2.
(2). No – vehicle has the pull-down parking brake switch. Proceed to Step 3.
2. Replace the steering column opening cover. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-05 > Removal and
Installation > Parking Brake Switch. The steering column trim panel comes with a new pull-down style parking
brake switch. The new switch will not install into the older style steering column opening cover. Repair is complete.
3. Replace the parking brake switch. Refer to the WSM, Section 206-05 > Removal and Installation > Parking Brake
Switch.
