Technical Service Bulletin
Workshop findings:
• The concern can be reproduced.
The following DTC is stored in the tire pressure monitoring system control module, J502 (address word 0065):
• DTC C1239F0 (Tire pressure monitor position assignment not possible).
Note:
This bulletin only applies to vehicles with the Direct Tire Pressure System.
Technical Background
This display issue may occur on vehicles manufactured between week 42 and week 48/2020 (except e-tron GT).
There is no system fault.
As there is no rotational direction signal from the sensors, the control module cannot detect the fitting location and
therefore cannot allocate the transmitted pressures to the positions on the vehicle.
The pressure monitoring function still works; the system provides a warning if there is a loss of pressure but does
not indicate which tire is affected.
Production Solution
From vehicle production date 11/30/2020 onward.
For e-tron GT, from vehicle production date 03/15/2021 onward.
Service
Replace all four pressure sensors in the wheels according to the Elsa at Repair Manual, Chassis >> Wheels and
Tires >> Tire Pressure Monitoring System >> Metal Valve Body Removing and Installing.
Warranty
Claim Type:
• 110 up to 48 Months/50,000 Miles.
• G10 for CPO Covered Vehicles – Verify Owner.
• If the vehicle is outside any warranty, this Technical Service Bulletin is informational
only.
