CENTER CONSOLE ARMREST STORAGE DIFFICULT TO OPEN
Description: This bulletin provides information to address difficultly with opening of the center console
armrest storage on certain G80 (RG3) vehicles. The foam pad attached to the release button may
interfere with its normal opening function. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to remove the foam pad
and allow for easier opening of the center console armrest storage.

Pad Removal
NOTE 1: Normal warranty applies.
NOTE 2*: Refer to the parts catalog for the complete causal part number applicable for the vehicle.
NOTE 3: Submit claim on Claim Entry Screen as “Warranty” type.
NOTE 4: This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Op times include VIN, Mileage, and Repair
validation photos as outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy.
NOTE 5: The incident parts are subject to callback through the normal Warranty Technical Center
(WTC) parts return process. Claim is subject to debit if the part is not returned.
NOTE 6: If a part is found in need of replacement while performing this TSB and the affected part is
still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same repair order. If the affected part is out of
warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the work.

This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Refer to the latest Digital Documentation Policy for
requirements.
1.
Remove the floor console assembly.
Refer to the shop manual:
• Body (Interior and Exterior) > Floor
Console > Floor Console Assembly >
Repair procedures

NOTICE
Be careful not to scratch or damage any
interior parts during the procedure.
2.
Remove the upper console cover (B).
Refer to the shop manual:
• Body (Interior and Exterior) > Floor
Console > Floor Console Assembly >
Repair procedures

If any fasteners are damaged upon
removal, replace them with new ones.

Remove the center console armrest (C).
Refer to the shop manual:
• Body (Interior and Exterior) > Floor
Console > Console Armrest > Repair
procedures

Remove the foam pad (D) attached to the front
of the center console armrest storage.

STUI
Using STUI, take a photo of the foam
pad removed from the center console
armrest with the last 6 digits of the VIN
and date of repair on a piece of paper.
Upload the photo to STUI.
6.
Reinstall all components in reverse order of
disassembly.
7.
The service procedure is now complete.
