ODIS Service Update
Offboard Diagnostic System Service (ODIS Service) – Update Error Prevention and
Windows® XP Reminder
From ODIS Service application update V2.2.0 – feature number 6.0.5 onwards, we
recommend that ODIS Service be set to automatically start with administrator rights, and that any
Anti-Virus software be disabled prior to initiating updates.
Before initiating the V2.2.0 – 6.0.5 online update download and installation, please
reconfigure ODIS Service as specified in Service Information – ODIS Service document
number >> VOS-14-21 (VW)<< posted on ServiceNet.
Failure to start and install ODIS Service updates as the administrator may lead to error
messages and/or malfunctions that can only be rectified by uninstalling and reinstalling
ODIS Service!
Also be reminded that ODIS Service application versions from V2.2.0 onward are not supported
on VAS diagnostic devices with Windows XP.

DTC P2711 Implausible Transmission Shift Sequence Stored in the Transmission
Control Module.
Tip: This Technical Bulletin is for fault code P2711 ONLY, if any other faults
appear with this code, perform normal GFF processes and diagnoses.
DTC as described may cause shifting concerns and/or a lack of mobility upon initial
startup. For example, the selector is moved to Drive or Reverse and the transmission
does not engage the selected gear.
Production Solution: Updated clutch installed as of March 12, 2010.

97AS Driver Seat Harness (NVLW)
NOTE:
Perform this UPDATE on all applicable vehicles within NEW VEHICLE
LIMITED WARRANTY.
 It is MANDATORY to perform UPDATES on all applicable vehicles in
dealer inventory PRIOR TO RETAIL SALE.
 Inform customers that this UPDATE will be available free of charge as
long as their vehicle is within the Warranty parameters outlined in this
UPDATE.


This update has been proactively released to prevent damage to the wiring harness
for the driver seat. This UPDATE is in effect until removed. Vehicle must meet all of
the following criteria:
Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 97AS code in Elsa,
Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
 If the vehicle is sold it must be within the NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY.
 Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this
UPDATE.
 Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior
to sale.

