Condition
Customer states:
• DC charging does not start.
• LED on charging socket pulsates in white.
• Complaint can be reproduced repeatedly at the same charging station.
• AC charging works without any issues.
Workshop findings:
• The vehicle’s Plug & Charge function is activated.
The following DTC and symptom code combination is stored in the Control Module for High-voltage battery
charger, -J1050- (address word 00C6):
• U15AF00: Fast battery charging (DC) Charging station encoding failed with symptom 2097297
(passive/intermittent).
Technical Background
Some DC charging stations claim to be compatible with vehicles that wish to use the Plug & Charge function.
However, not all DC charging stations have received a software update that enables this function. For this reason,
some charging stations may not start the charging process when the Plug & Charge function is switched on. This
can be reproduced at the same charging station absolutely every time.
