Complaint - Check Engine Warning Light Active in Conjunction with Fault Memory Entry
“P2D8F00, P168D00” and/or “P25AC00” in the DME Control Unit (28/23)

Concerns:
DME control unit
Cause:
The “Engine control fault” warning message will be displayed in the instrument cluster.
One or multiple of the following fault memory entries is stored in the DME control unit fault memory:

P2D8F00 - Oil pressure switch – signal implausible (0048AE)
P168D00 - Oil pressure switch - Signal implausible (0048AC)
P25AC00 - Oil pressure switch – signal implausible (0048AC)
In the event of a customer complaint, re-program the engine electronics (DME) control unit using the
latest PIWIS Tester.
Information
The minimum coding requirement is the PIWIS Tester software version 41.750.050
Information
Replacing the oil pressure switch is not effective for this error pattern.

Work Procedure: 1
The basic work procedure for programming a control unit is described in the Workshop Manual 

Required PIWIS Tester software version:
41.750.050 (or higher)
Type of control unit programming:
Control unit programming using the ‘Automatic
programming’ function of the DME control unit.
‘Engine electronics (DME)’ control unit –
‘Coding/programming’ menu – ‘Automatic
programming’ function.
Read and follow the information and instructions
on the PIWIS Tester during the guided
programming sequence.
During programming, the DME control unit is
re-programmed and then automaticallyrecoded.
Programming sequence:
Do not interrupt programming and coding.
Once the control units have been programmed and
coded, you will be prompted to switch the ignition off
and then back on again after a certain waiting time.
Backup documentation of the new software versions
is then performed.

Programming takes up to 15 minutes, depending
on equipment.
