SITUATION
Water ingress from the panoramic sunroof (aka moonroof), either on the front driver’s and/or passenger’s
side.
CAUSE
The panoramic sunroof drain hose has been
over-sprayed with either paint and/or clear
coat at the plant, causing the hose to tear at
the top due to vibrations/body flex in the
vehicle.
CORRECTION
Install a rigid plastic tube into the panoramic
sunroof drain hose.
PROCEDURE
1. Lower the headliner following the repair instructions listed in ISTA/AIR 51 44 915.

2. Source a plastic tube from a local hardware
store using the specs provided in the photo.
Note: It’s recommended to source a
plastic tube with ribs on it as shown in
the photo, which provide a stronger
resistance for the hoses to pull off.
3. Install the plastic tube into the hose on the
vehicle side.
4. Install the other half of the hose that
connects to the panoramic sunroof cassette
onto the plastic tube.
5. Install two zip ties (arrows) on each side of
the hose.
6. Install panoramic sunroof drain hose onto the cassette along with the headliner. Verify the repair.

plus 20 percent, at the quantity needed (WPPM Section 8 Page 25).
Enter the total material cost in sublet and itemize each item in the amount on the repair order and in claim
comment section.
