Whats New Abstract
A software fix for model 520EV that are not equipped with ESP (Stability Control) is now available. The currently available software, part number:
SCM_1p5_BC_R5p00_003, will address issues caused by software version R5.00_002 that affect Peterbilt Model 520EV. The software update will correct
the following issues: 1.) Power gauge displays axle RPM instead of power draw, 2.) Air conditioning compressor is inoperative below 10 mph (16 kph) and
over 40 mph (65 kph), 3.) Low air and low coolant audible alarms (buzzers) are inoperative below 10 mph (16 kph), and 4.) (520EV Only) Does not charge
without ignition in on position,
This fix only applies to model 520EV that are not equipped with ESP (Stability Control).
Software update is not currently available for 520EV that are equipped with ESP.

1. Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis. This campaign can be performed at any time
convenient for the customer (for example: during next scheduled maintenance interval).
2. Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list. Review SIR for “Complete”
next to the 46003 campaign code prior to performing this repair.
3. Follow the repair procedures in the Procedures section below.

0.8 hours to open TCS 365 case, Meritor OnTrac case, update ECU to R5.3, and remove and replace Bendix ABS ECU per previous procedures. Use
quick claim code 46003A. This claim MUST include a Meritor OnTrac claim number. See Meritor Warranty Requirements for more information.
FOR 579EV REPAIRS PERFORMED ON OR AFTER 08/01/2023:
1.5 hours to open TCS 365 case, Meritor OnTrac case, update ECU to R5.3, and remove, replace Bendix ABS ECU, calibrate yaw rate, lateral
acceleration, and steering angle sensors, and perform test drive to verify repair per attached procedures. Use quick claim code 46003B. This claim

audible alarms that were caused by the BEV2 R5.2 software update that was part of Safety Recall 23PBA.

The BEV2 R5.2 software update related to Safety Recall 23PBA caused
incorrect operation of the BEV power gauge, air conditioner, inability to
charge without key in on position, and low air and low coolant audible
alarms.

Perform a software update to correct all issues listed above.

Please contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule an
appointment.
Peterbilt Motors Company has initiated this notice to remedy these issues at no charge to you. Please contact a
