The currently available software, part number: SCM_1p5_BC_R5p00_003, will address issues caused by software version R5.00_002 that affect Peterbilt Model 520EV. The software update will correct the following issues: 1.) Power gauge displays axle RPM instead of power draw, 2.) Air conditioning compressor is inoperative below 10 mph (16 kph) and over 40 mph (65 kph), 3.) Low air and low coolant audible alarms (buzzers) are inoperative below 10 mph (16 kph), and 4.) (520EV Only) Does not charge without ignition in on position, This fix only applies to model 520EV that are not equipped with ESP (Stability Control). Software update is not currently available for 520EV that are equipped with ESP. Revision 10/31/23 – Bulletin updated to inform dealers that software fix is now available for Peterbilt model 520EV that are not equipped with ESP. 520EV specific failure mode added to Introduction section (#4) (520EV Only) Does not charge without ignition in on position. Updated warranty section to include quick claim for 520EV software update. Added 520EV chassis population to Chassis Affected section. For 579EV only -This repair involves replacement of the Bendix ABS ECU with an updated version and a software update to R5.00_003. Bendix ABS control unit replacement is not necessary for 520EV that are not equipped with ESP. 520EV without ESP will only receive a software update to R5.00_003 – (software part number: SCM_1p5_BC_R5p00_003.)
