CONDITION
Some 2023MY Crown Platinum grade ONLY may require a transaxle and transmission control module
(TCU) replacement for low-speed vibration from Transaxle and/or DTC for P084000/P084087.
RECOMMENDATIONS
If the transaxle is replaced, first confirm part number of TCM (TCU) currently installed. If PN 8953030880 is currently installed, or will be installed, disregard this information and proceed with repair as
normal. If PN 89530-30881 is currently installed, or will be installed with paired ATM, follow the repair
manual for HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE: INSTALLATION.
• After install of transaxle and TCM (TCU) follow RM for ECU Configuration. ECU
Configuration Tool is required on 100% of transaxle replacements.
• Do NOT attempt to perform Step 31. For Step 32, only perform Road Test section of

INSTALLATION; 2023 MY Crown [12/2022 ].
WARNING – If RM steps 31/32 are performed, (except Road Test) this can lead to DTC’s that will
not clear or harsh engagement into D/R range until additional steps are performed. If ECU
Configuration is not performed, this can lead to No Ready ON condition. If this occurs, please
create a TAS case and contact your FTS.
