Technical Service Bulletin 70 Leather dashboard blistering, bubbling, wrinkled, loose, wavy, detached, delaminating 70 23 85 2071698/1 November 3, 2023. Model(s) Year R8, and R8 Spyder 2017 – 2018 Q8 2019 – 2022 e-tron quattro e-tron Sporback quattro, SQ8, and RS Q8 VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment All Not Applicable 2020 – 2022 2019 2021 – 2022 2020 – 2022 Condition Customer states: • The leather of the dashboard is wavy, wrinkled, loose, blistering and/or bubbling. Workshop findings: • The leather has delaminated from the dashboard substrate. Technical Background The leather detaches from the dashboard substrate due to process weaknesses and extreme stresses caused by hot and humid climates. The material reaches its physical load limit. Production Solution Various measures have taken place, but they are not 100% effective. Further optimization measures are currently under investigation. Service 1.
