Customer statement:
• Customer states “Electrical system: fault. See owner’s manual”.
• The following message is shown in the instrument cluster: “Electrical system: fault. See owner’s manual”. In
addition, the battery symbol lights up in yellow or red.
• A yellow warning lamp related to the electrical system shown in the instrument cluster during driving (Figure 1).

Technical Background
A functional issue exists in the voltage converter.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
If the above entry is logged, replacing the belt-driven starter-alternator C29 will not fix the complaint.
The failure will occur again if the belt-driven starter-alternator is replaced.
• The cause of the DTC must be determined via Guided Fault Finding.
• Claims for replaced belt-driven starter-alternators will be subject to review.
