This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 1.3L I4 Turbo Mair DI
Eng w/ESS E100 (Sales Code EYJ):
• **M1 built on and after April 28, 2021 (MDH 0428XX) and built on and before August
29, 2023 (MDH 0829XX).
• H1 built on and after December 26, 2021 (MDH 1226XX) and built on and before
August 29, 2023 (MDH 0829XX).
• B1 built on and after January 14, 2022 (MDH 0114XX) and built on and before August
29, 2023 (MDH 0829XX).**

This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 1.3L I4 Turbo Mair DI
Engine w/ESS (Sales Code EYF):
• **M1 built on and after January 29, 2022 (MDH 0129XX) and built on and before
August 29, 2023 (MDH 0829XX).
• H1 built on and after March 25, 2022 (MDH 0325XX) and built on and before August
29, 2023 (MDH 0829XX).
This bulletin applies to B1 vehicles built on and after May 17, 2022 (MDH
0517XX) and built on and before August 29, 2023 (MDH 0829XX) equipped
with a 1.3L I4 Turbo Mair DI Engine (Sales Code EYH).**
CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the
technician may find that the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) has been set:
• P06DD - Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Stuck Off.
Customers may also comment on the following:
• Vehicle will not be able to exceed 3,300 RPM (when DTC P06DD is active).
CAUSE:
Oil Pump
This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 09-006-23 REV. C, date of issue July 22, 2023, which should
be removed from your files. All revisions are highlighted with **asterisks** and include updated RSU number, repair
procedure steps, build dates and LOP.
This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) **23-299, date of issue
October 28, 2023**. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service action is applicable to the
vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library. All repairs are reimbursable within the
provisions of warranty. This RSU will expire 18 months after the date of issue.
REPAIR SUMMARY:
This bulletin involves inspecting and if necessary replacing the timing chain cover (oil pump).

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the ones
listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further
with this bulletin.
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list exhibits
any of the symptoms listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Using wiTECH check if DTC P06DD is set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Was DTC P06DD found in the PCM?
• YES>>> Replace the timing chain cover. Proceed to Step 6.

• NO>>> Proceed to Step 3.
**Start the engine at let it run at idle until the engine oil temperature reaches more than 100°C
(212° F). Monitor for five seconds.
Create a graph with “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” and Oil Pressure (kPa) and review the value. If
oil pressure is below 110 kPa, and or If “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” shows anything but “0”, the
timing cover needs to be replaced Fig. 1.**
NOTE: The “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” value can change in less than 20 seconds, then the oil pump
(timing chain) is faulty and will need to be replaced.

**Did the “Oil Pressure” value read is less than 110 kPa and/or “DSOP LO RAT FAIL TMR” value
read anything but “0”?
• YES>>> Create a screen shot of the graph showing values and attach it to the work order.

Proceed to Step 6.
• NO>>> “Oil Pressure” value read is greater than 110 kPa and/or if the value always shows
“0” and DTC P06DD was not found, this bulletin has been completed. Use Inspection LOP
(09-65-01-74) to close the active RSU.**
Replace the timing chain cover. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: 09 - Engine, 1.3L I4 16V Multi Air Turbo / Valve Timing /
Cover(s), Engine Timing / Removal and Installation.
Using wiTECH clear any DTCs that may have been set.
