Customer states:
• The night vision system is sporadically inoperative.
• The message “Night vision system: fault. Please contact service” is displayed in the instrument cluster.
• After cycling the ignition, the functionality is restored.
Workshop findings:
• The wiring between the night vision system and the instrument cluster has been checked and found to be in
good condition.

Technical Service Bulletin
One or more of the following DTC(s) may be sporadically stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285
(address word 0017) and/or the night vision system control module, J853 (address word 0084):
Instrument cluster control module:
• DTC B11E101 (Video line for night vision system).
Night vision system control module:
• DTC B11E201 (Video line 2 for night vision system).
Technical Background
Tolerances in the instrument cluster can cause it to erroneously detect a wiring problem.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Required equipment:
• ODIS Tester.
• SVM code.
• Instrument Cluster Software update on SD Card (see Required Parts and Tools or download the software from
MirrorServer using the SD Creator Program).
Time to complete update:
• Approximately 30-60 minutes (includes 20-50 minutes for the software update and 10 minutes for the SVM
work).
Service work:
• Make sure that the key is located on the emergency key reader coil for the duration of the update, which is
located in the center console either in the front cup holder or on the wireless charging pad / center console
storage area (depending on model) and marked by a key symbol.
• Update the Instrument Cluster using either Method 1 or Method 2 according to TSB 2056558: 91 MIB2+
Software Update Instructions and use SVM code 17A043.
Method 1: Automated update using ODIS.
Method 2: Manual update due to SVM code or Server issues.
