Certain Maserati MC20 and MC20 Cielo (M240) MY22 MY23 listed in MODISCS+ are involved in a
Rapid Update to replace both rear axle shafts.
This replacement is necessary because the development of the project has led to an
improvement of the component, guaranteeing better performance and a longer lifespan.
Therefore, to offer our customers the best available technology, it has been decided to replace
and update the vehicles that have already been sold.
We remind you that all the Rapid Updates must be performed within the first workshop visit,
regardless of the Mandatory setting set in Modis, as required by Maserati policies.
Also, for vehicles in Stock Dealer / PDI, it is necessary to carry out all action operations before
delivery to the end customer, as required by the White Book and explicitly reported in the Predelivery checklist.
Please read and review this bulletin first before ordering parts and/or starting the procedure.

Technical Procedure
TECHNICAL SERVICE OPERATIONS
All images shown in this bulletin are for illustrative purposes only
1. Always check ModisCS+ to see if the vehicle is involved in this action and if it has not been
previously performed.
2. Disconnect the battery by following the relative procedure in the workshop manual:
▪ 8.20.001.0 BATTERY Disconnect-Connect Power Supply
3. Completely remove and replace the left and right drive shafts following the instructions in the
workshop manual. (Section 03.10 - 1 GEARBOX HOUSINGS)

03.21.002 - COMPLETE RH HALF SHAFT - Removal/refitting or replacement
03.21.003 - COMPLETE LH HALF SHAFT - Removal/refitting or replacement
NOTE: Please visually inspect the inner shaft boot at the differential joint and its caps for any
presence of grease and or torn boot. Be sure to clean all cap holes and surfaces from any
residual grease.
Remember to always replace removed screws with new ones per the workshop manual.

06.20.007 - RH REAR HUB CARRIER - Removal/refitting or replacement
NOTE: during the disassembly procedure, if broken screws are found or the threads on the
gearbox flange are damaged open a BOL report as “Support Request” for assistance.
4. Use a Torque Wrench: Follow the workshop manual instructions! Tighten/torque ALL screws
following the sequence:
Tightening torque of the axle shaft screws - 03.10.145
30N ⋅m
1. TIGHTENING TORQUE
(22.1 ft-lb)
90°
2. ANGLE
(1.57 rads)
45N ⋅m
3. CONTROL TORQUE
(33.2 ft-lb)
5. Perform a vehicle alignment.

6. Carry out functional tests.
7. Procedure complete.
