Brake Symptom - Intermittent Brake Squeaking: Optional Comfort Brake Pads Available
(SY 150/23)
Vehicle Type:
911 GT3 RS (991)
Model Year:
2019
Equipment:
Ceramic - PCCB brake (M-No. 450)
Concerns:
Brake pads at front and rear
Symptom:
During driving or braking, brake squeaking occurs intermittently from the area of the front
axle and/or rear axle. No damage is detected when inspecting the brake.
Cause:
The high-performance brake pads installed in series can cause noise abnormalities (e.g., squeaking) due
to their performance properties.
Information
This behavior is not a functional defect in the brake system or brake components.
Remedial
Action:
In the event of a complaint, the customer can be offered the option of retrofitting with comfort brake pads
on the front and rear axles.
These brake pads offer better acoustic properties with almost the same performance.
Replacing brake pads, front and rear:
 Workshop Manual '463656 Replacing front disc brake pads'
 Workshop Manual '463856 Replacing brake pads rear'
Information
The brake pads must always be retrofitted on both axles. The individual retrofitting or mixed installation
on front and rear axles is not permitted.
