Service Bulletin January 10, 2024 23-035 Version 2 MIL Comes on with DTC P0441 Supersedes 23-035, dated December 15, 2023, to revise the information highlighted in yellow. AFFECTED VEHICLES Year Model Trim Level VIN Range 2018–20 MDX ALL ALL 2022–24 MDX ALL ALL 2018 RDX ALL ALL 2018–2020 TLX (V6 Only) ALL ALL NOTE: No MDX model released for 2021. REVISION SUMMARY Under AFFECTED VEHICLES, an affected model was clarified. SYMPTOM MIL comes on during vehicle operation. POSSIBLE CAUSE Due to variations in the purge control solenoid valve spring, the valve wears unevenly and intermittently sticks. This may result in setting DTC P0441 (Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Purge Flow Malfunction). CORRECTIVE ACTION Replace the purge control solenoid valve, then do an EVAP system function test with the i-HDS. Remove the engine cover. Page 2 of 3 2. Disconnect EVAP cannister purge control solenoid valve connector and hose, then remove valve. 3. Replace with a new purge control solenoid, and then install in reverse order. REPAIR VERIFICATION 1. Start i-HDS with DST-I. 2. Select Connect to the Vehicle. 3. Select Function Test. 4. Select PGM-FI EVAP Test. 5. Select Function Test. 6. Select EVAP Test. 7. If the EVAP function test passes, return the vehicle to the client. If the EVAP function test stops and fails, follow normal troubleshooting. Page 3 of 3
