Technical Service Bulletin 1. Check the dust and pollen filter cover. It may not be fully engaged in the air intake housing. Figure 1 shows a visible gap in the cover. This gap causes a whistle type noise during HVAC blower operation. Figure 1. Cover for the dust and pollen filter not fully engaged. 2. The cause of the incomplete fitment is interference between the interior wiring harness and the cover. Remove the dust and pollen filter cover. Figure 2 shows the harness routing preventing proper clearance for complete cover installation into the air intake housing. Figure 2. Interior wiring harness impingement into the dust and pollen filter cover mating surface to the air intake housing. 3. Press the interior wiring harness away from the dust and pollen filter opening. Then install the cover until it is completely engaged in the air intake housing and fully seated. It is not necessary to replace the dust and pollen filter in these cases. Run the HVAC system briefly and ensure that the whistle noise is eliminated. Warranty Claim Type: 110 Up to 48 Months/50,000 Miles.
