Condition
Customer states:
The steering column adjustment does not work, the steering column cannot be adjusted despite releasing the
lever for adjusting the steering column position. The vehicle steering is not affected.
Technical Background
The wedge disk can become stuck due to external influences, thereby blocking steering column adjustment.

Technical Service Bulletin
Remove the dashboard cover/knee airbag and the steering wheel column trim on the driver side according to the
Workshop Manual.
Release the lever of the steering column adjustment and loosen the wedge disk (Figure 1) with a screwdriver.
If this is not possible, replace the steering column.
Please note that applying force to the steering wheel (pulling yourself up with your body weight) causes
the steering column to become tense and thus the adjustment may not work.
