Condition
Customer states:
• The radio plays while the vehicle is parked.
• This can happen with the MMI screen being on, or off.
Workshop findings:
• No relevant DTCs are stored.
• The complaint occurs very sporadically and may be difficult to reproduce.
Technical Background
A software issue may cause the radio to continue playing when the vehicle is parked. It will shut off after 5 to 15
minutes, and therefore does not impact the vehicle’s 12V battery’s SoC excessively.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
This behavior can occur sporadically when leaving the vehicle.
The radio starts playing after about 1 minute.
Currently, no repair is available.
1. Do not perform any repairs. Any repairs for this concern may be denied.
2. Instruct the customer that this condition is normal.
Workaround
• If the radio plays while the doors are closed (vehicle already locked), opening the driver door again briefly can
deactivate the audio output.

The system can only be deactivated again by opening the driver door. Opening other doors or the
luggage compartment does not deactivate the audio output.
The system will turn off after about 5 - 15 minutes on its own.
