Customer statement:
A warning for the third brake light is displayed in the instrument cluster however, the lamp continues to work
normally.
Workshop findings:
• The warning is no longer displayed after the ignition is switched off and then on again.
• The wiring for the third brake light is OK.
• The third brake light works normally.
The following DTC is stored in the Electronic Central Electrical (BCM), -J519- (address word 0009):
• DTC B12C615 Bulb for high-mount brake light open circuit/short circuit to B+ intermittent.

This TSB replaces Pending Service Solution 2067742: 94 PSS 3rd brake light warning, DTC B12C615 is stored.
This TSB replaces TSB 2071331/2: 94 3rd brake light warning is displayed in the instrument cluster. DTC:
B12C615
1. Check the SW level of Electronic Central Electrical (BCM), -J519- (address word 0009).
2. For vehicles with SW 0182 and lower, perform step 4.
3. For vehicles with SW 0183 or higher, perform step 5.
4. Update the Electronic Central Electrical (BCM), -J519- (address word 0009) using the SVM action code as
listed in the table below, if necessary.

SVM Update Instructions
Always use DoIP when flashing a control module via ODIS in supported vehicles.
To Activate DoIP, select Administration>>General>>GFF Process>>DoIP communication>>Only allow
DoIP communication.
This setting will automatically reset when the diagnostic session is ended.
You can tell if DoIP is active by observing a red LED on the VAS 6154(A).
Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.

5. Remove the suppression capacitor C24 using the steps below:
The suppression capacitor
C24 is located near the
yellow arrow on the right
side of the luggage
compartment. (Figure 1).
• Gain access to the C24
suppression filter.

• Remove the heat-shrink
from around the
capacitor.
• At the yellow highlighted
area, cut and remove the
capacitor from the wiring
harness (Figure 2).

• Insulate the exposed crimps using heat-shrink hose from VAS 1978B wire harness repair set and
then wrap the wiring harness in fabric adhesive tape N 10592002
