Technical Service Bulletin 4 - Revised header (Revised Models and Model Years) 3 06/29/2023 Revised header (Added Model Year) 2 04/28/2022 Revised header (Added Model Year) Customer states: • There are cracking or creaking noises when steering that come from the front end near the steering column, intermediate steering shaft, steering rack, and/or the steering wheel. Technical Background Noises from dynamic steering actuator due to tolerances. Production Solution Under development. Service To narrow down the source of the noise, proceed as follows: • Remove the fuse for the dynamic steering, J792 (address word 001B). This disables the actuator. • If the noises now no longer occur when steering, the dynamic steering actuator is the cause of the noises that were heard previously. • If the noises persist, continue investigating other components of the steering system outside of this TSB. Warranty This TSB is informational only and not applicable to any Audi Warranty.
