Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment Q8 e-tron, Q8 Sportback e-tron, SQ8 e-tron, and SQ8 Sportback e-tron 2024 All Not Applicable Condition Customer states: At the time of the complaint, the vehicle was at an AC charging station. AND The drive system could not be activated. AND The following error messages appear in the instrument cluster after switching on the vehicle. • Drive system: fault. Safely stop vehicle • Electrical system: fault. Safely stop vehicle Workshop findings: • The customer statement can be reproduced. The following DTC entries are logged (static/intermittent) in the control unit for hybrid battery management (008C): • U059B00: High voltage battery switch box, implausible signal • P0ADC00: Hybrid/EV Battery Positive contact control circuit high • P0AE000: Hybrid/EV Battery Negative contact control circuit high • P2BCA00: Battery Charging system, activation positive loader 2, short circuit to positive Technical Background Diagnostic aspects of the software are too sensitive. Technical Service Bulletin Service If a customer has contacted the dealership regarding this concern, and the vehicle is not operational, before the vehicle is towed to the dealership advise the customer to turn the vehicle off completely for 20 minutes for a bus sleep cycle. The customer should attempt to restart the vehicle after 20 minutes has transpired. If the concern persists, then recommend contacting Roadside to have the vehicle towed to the nearest Certified Audi Service Center.
