WIRING PROTECTION INSTALLATION FOR FRONT BUMPER
MAIN WIRING & CONNECTOR (SERVICE CAMPAIGN T36G)
 IMPORTANT
Retailers must perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles prior to retail delivery to a
guest and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
Access the “Vehicle Information” screen via WebDCS to identify open campaigns.
Description: Some vehicles may exhibit door unlock malfunctions due to front bumper wiring and
fuse disconnections following a collision, stemming from inadequate wiring protection during bumper
impacts. This bulletin provides instructions to remove the front bumper and install the enhanced wiring
protection measures.
Applicable Vehicles (Certain):
• 2023MY G80 Electrified (RG3 EV) produced from 2/23/2022 – 6/1/2023.
NOTICE
To avoid potential damage to Genesis EVs, Genesis EV repairs can only be performed by EV
certified Genesis retailers.

NOTE 1: Submit claim on Claim Entry Screen as “Campaign” type.
NOTE 2: If a part is found in need of replacement while performing this campaign and the affected
part is still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same repair order. If the affected part is
out of warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the
work.
NOTE 3: This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Op times include VIN, Mileage, and Repair
validation photos as outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy.

Removal of the Front Bumper
1.
Open the charge door (A).

Wear gloves to prevent injury to hands.

Remove the charge door inlet cap (B).

Remove the bumper upper cover (C).

Remove the engine room undercover (D).

Remove the mounting clips and screws on the
side of front bumper on both driver and
passenger side (E), and detach the side part of
front bumper.
NOTICE

Gently remove the side part of the front
bumper to prevent damage.

Disconnect the front bumper main connector
(F).

Remove the front bumper assembly (G).

Information
Ensure the connector is properly
disconnected. Replace any damaged
clips or retainers.
NOTICE
Ensure front bumper is carefully set aside
to prevent any damage or scratches to
the bumper.

SUBJECT:
Front Bumper Main Wiring & Connector Vinyl Sheet Cover Installation
1.
Use a plastic removal tool to remove the main
wiring connector (A).

Apply the supplied vinyl sheet (B) to the front
bumper main wiring connector to overlap the
wiring creases and wind the connector wiring
so that it cannot be seen.

Wrap PVC tape on both ends (C) of the end to
overlap the connector and wiring creases.

4.
Wrap the PVC tape between the connector
and the wiring so that the wiring in the area (D)
is invisible.

Install the connector (E) on the connector
mounting area.

Check the hard PVC tube installation location
(F) and (G) in the L/H area of the front bumper
that has been removed.

Spread the supplied hard PVC tube (H) and
install it in the position mentioned in step 6,
then rotate it so that the cracked part faces
inside the bumper.

Adjust the position by turning after installation.

Wrap both ends (I) of the mounted hard PVC
tube with PVC tape.

Wrap with PVC tape on both side ends.

STUI
Using STUI, take a photo of:
1. Harness with both PVC tubes
attached.
2. Vinyl sheet covering the
connector wiring.
Both photos must have the last 6 digits
of the VIN and date of repair on a piece
of paper.
Upload the 2 photos to STUI.

Reinstall everything in the reverse order.
