Bulletin No.: PIT6006B Published date: 03/11/2024 Preliminary Information PIT6006B Diagnostic Tip: Unable To Learn Additional Key Transmitters/ Back Up Antenna Location for Police Vehicles Models Brand: Chevrolet Model: Silverado 1500 New (RPO J22, VIN Digit 12 = A or D) Model Years: VIN: from to Engine: Transmissions: 2022 All All All All Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2023 - 2024 All All All All Chevrolet Tahoe 2021 - 2024 All All All All Involved Region or Country North America Additional Options (RPO) Condition Cause 5W4 or 9C1 with RPO: BTM Some technicians may state that they are unable to add additional key transmitters to the vehicles when equipped with the police package. Unable to locate the fob pocket or backup antenna also known as the IMMO coil. Most police vehicles will not be equipped with a center seat or center console assembly, which is where the fob pocket/backup antenna is typically located. The following will show the location for the fob pocket/backup antenna that is used for learning new transmitters. Correction: The following will show the location for the backup antenna/ Immo coil for learning new transmitters. Most police vehicle will not be equipped with a center seat or center console assembly. For 2021-2024 Police Tahoe Models The location for the fob pocket/backup antenna is located on the ledge right above the start/stop switch, as shown below. This is where the transmitter should be placed when learning new transmitters. For 2022-2024 Silverado Police Models: For vehicles equipped with RPO: 5Y1 then the pocket is shown below: The location of the fob pocket/back up antenna is right above the SDM (restraint control module). Lift the ooring between the front seats to locate an indentation where the transmitter should be placed when learning new transmitters, as shown below. Note: If the police vehicle has been up tted, there may be a aftermarket center console or other items covering up this location.
