P0105

Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Malfunction

DTC P0105, sometimes indicated as P010500 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the air/fuel mixture causing manifold absolute pressure/barometric pressure circuit malfunction.

The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor measures the absolute pressure of the air in the intake manifold. The barometric pressure sensor measures the atmospheric pressure. The MAP sensor and barometric pressure sensor are both used by the engine control module (ECM) to calculate the air mass entering the engine.
The P0105 code is set when the ECM detects a malfunction in the MAP or barometric pressure circuit. The most common causes of this code are a failed MAP or barometric pressure sensor, a failed ECM, or a wiring problem.
If the code persists after replacing the sensor, the ECM may need to be replaced. If there is a wiring problem, the wiring should be checked for shorts and opens.

Hev warning light came on when i started my car. I heard a sucking air sound at which time i turned off the car. I then restarted and no warning lights were on. Later that day while driving home the warning light came back on. I pulled the codes and it showed P0105 and P0107. Dealer inspected and found the egr pipe(c) separated from flange causing unmetered air leak. Repairs took from 09/26/18-10/02/18
