P054C

Cold Start "B" Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced Bank 2

DTC P054C, sometimes indicated as P054C00 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the engine idling stability causing cold start "b" camshaft position timing over-advanced bank 2.

The P054C code means that the engine is not running in sync with the camshafts. This can be caused by a variety of things, including a misaligned timing belt, a broken timing belt, or a bad camshaft sensor.
If you have a P054C code, the first thing you should do is check the timing belt. Make sure it is properly aligned and that there is no damage to it. If the belt is damaged or out of alignment, have it repaired or replaced.
If the timing belt is properly aligned and in good condition, the next step is to check the camshaft sensor. If the camshaft sensor is bad, replace it.

2014 JEEP WRANGLER with 40564.0 miles

Jeep was totally dead on 8/9/2017. ..I replaced battery and it cranked but none of the electrical controls on steering column work, i.E. Blinkers, horn, lights, stereo controls, wind shield wipers..Etc. (anything on the steerimg column minus the ignition switch). I took it to a mechanic and he stated the ipcm is bad and needs to be replaced. Mechanic stated he has seen 3 off these this week alone from chrysler products. It is a 2014 with 40k miles, never been off round. Check engine light came on about a month ago with the code P054C but went off at the next crank up and hadnt come on again. Why would this part just fail? It's nothing i did. Sounds like a faulty part.
