P0964

Pressure Control Solenoid "B" Control Circuit/Open

DTC P0964, sometimes indicated as P096400 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the onboard computer system or ancillary outputs causing pressure control solenoid "b" control circuit/open.

The most common causes of this code are a defective pressure control solenoid valve, a defective PCM, or a wiring problem.
If you suspect that the pressure control solenoid valve is defective, you can test it by disconnecting the electrical connector and applying battery voltage directly to the valve terminals. If the valve is defective, it will not open and you will feel resistance when you apply voltage.
If you suspect that the PCM is defective, you can test it by disconnecting the electrical connector and jumpering the two valve terminals. If the PCM is defective, the valve will open and you will hear a clicking noise.
If you suspect that there is a wiring problem, you can test it by using a DVOM to measure the resistance between the valve terminals and the PCM connector terminals. If the resistance is not the same on both sides, there is a wiring problem.

2019 CHEVROLET CAMARO with 405.0 miles

Today in the morning, i was driving on the highway to work and as i was driving at about 45 mph, i heard a clunk sound under the car and the engine light came on. I slowed down and stopped at a traffic light and then i begin to drive again and i noticed that my car was driving at a high rpm and it seemed like was stuck at a shift and it didn't want to change gears so i slowed down pulled into an entrance and turned off my vehicle i looked under the car and i didnt see anything wrong; no leaks or nothing. I turned it back on and drove it to auto parts to see have them run a check engine light test and 3 codes came up which was P0964, P0966, and P0700. After that i took it back home at a slow speed and left it there until i got back home from work. I started my car up and didnt see the check engine light on anymore. I called my dealership to have it serviced and checked.
