P0975

Shift Solenoid "B" Control Circuit Range/Performance

DTC P0975, sometimes indicated as P097500 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the transmission (gearbox) causing shift solenoid "b" control circuit range/performance.

The shift solenoid "B" control circuit range/performance fault means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a problem with the shift solenoid "B" circuit. This can be caused by a number of problems, including a faulty shift solenoid "B" valve, a wiring problem, or a problem with the PCM.
If you have this fault code, the first thing you should do is check the wiring and connectors for damage, corrosion, or other problems. If everything looks okay, then you may need to replace the shift solenoid "B" valve. If the problem is with the PCM, then you will need to have the PCM replaced.

2015 CHRYSLER 200 with 8862.0 miles

Car's engine stalls at main road for no reason. It would not start up and check engine light came up, dealer tested the car and found nothing wrong, did the same thing again today with the exemption that it was in my driveway going in reverse the transmission would not go back in parking and the engine stalled after 2 minutes the car started up but the transmission indicator shift between p ans s mode. Called Chrysler after that happened and the customer service operator said the it was not possible to remote diagnosed because the car had no engine check light or warning message that if it happen again take the vehicle to the dealer or a mechanic for code scanning. Took the car to advance auto part store and it show code "P0975 power transmission solenoid b control circuit range /performance" dangerous situation when this happens in the highway or road at higher speed because the engine shuts off and transmission does not response making the car uncontrollable.

2014 JEEP CHEROKEE with 17922.0 miles

On september 20th at 5:30 am driving 55mph my 2014 Jeep Cherokee trail hawk suddenly just shut off the whole car. It restated 45 minutes later and i drove it to minot automotive center. The error messages that came on the dash were "service transmission< service emergancy break, check engine light" minot automotive wrote on their diagnostic paper that code U0402 "implausible data recieved from tcm" and code P0975- shift control solenoid b circuit control performance errors were stored. Dealer updated the tcm and pcm software to version for tsbs 18-031-14 rev a and 21-043-15 they cleared the codes the returned. On september 23 the Jeep just died again while driving down hiway at 65 mph, it restarted an hour later and again took to dealer who promply said it would be 4 weeks before they could look at it. Called Jeep/chysler service # and assigned case #27877752 and told someone would call me back. Jeep again died on sept 23 2015 2 more times as the dealer said it was safe to drive and Jeep wouldn't pay for a rental. I never was called back from Jeep so called them again. This time assigned a case manager who just stonewalls me and never returns calls. Jeeps bright idea was to have it towed 150miles at my expense of $664 to another dealer who wouldn't look at it for 2 months. Car dies again while driving 65 on september 24 2015. If we or the other motoring public live thru this it will be a miracle.

2011 FORD EXPEDITION with 22086.0 miles

After driving the vehicle 2011 Ford Expedition el for approximately 5 hours at 70mph on interstate 95 at 2:30am in the state of georgia with no other vehicles nearby suddenly without any warning the car went into a violent skid causing it to swerve and spin out of control until coming to rest at the side of the road. At this time the transmission did not respond to either forward or reverse, there was no throttle response and the engine was at low idle with 0 oil pressure registering. The wrench indicator was lighted on the dash. Owners manual indicated the vehicle was in " limp mode ". I turned off the ignition and a short time later restarted the car with all systems operating normal with the wrench indicator no longer lighted. Subsequently the car was driven without further malfunction to the selling dealer about 400 miles away. The service manager simply stated the codes would be checked and the appropriate indicated repair made with no further concern for the obvious life safety event which easily could have resulted in a tragic fatal accident if other vehicles were in close proximity.Diagnostics found dtc P0975. Repair invoice indicated replace sse solenoid (7g136/ 7g383 7g484 7j136 ) & road tested ok..In view of this traumatic incident & with no further confidence to drive this car i chose to replace it with a new 2012 model without any significant consideration regarding the new car cost. Contact with Ford motor co case # [xxx] resulted in their opinion that "malfunctions happen and no consideration for vehicle replacement. Ford will apparently resell this vehicle to an unsuspecting customer. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.S.C. 552(b)(6).

2010 FORD F-150 with 30600.0 miles

At highway cruising speed, with the cruise control on, the truck spontaneously locked up the wheels and went into an uncontrollable skid off the interstate highway into the ditch and up the embankment. The Ford dealership which fixed it found a computer error code P0975, and therefore replaced Ford part number 9l3z7a100c:control assembly-transmission. No braking system problems, and no rear end differential problems were found. The truck was drivable after the accident. If the truck had rolled or struck an obstacle, fatalities could have resulted.
