2004 GMC ENVOY XUV with 111848. miles

2004 Envoy Xuv, impeccably maintained, car was parked in my drive way and i started it to go to the store and it started chugging and then almost died, but then went back to normal but the service engine soon and reduced engine power lights illuminated on dash.Turned off engine. Restarted, and the service engine soon light was still there so my husband hooked up his code reader and it had the code P1680 ( throttle body postioning censor.) and this isn't the first time it's done it but the engine light has always just flashed it would never stay on so we could read the code. But in order to fix this you have to buy a whole new throttle body housing because the censor is built into it. And it isn't cheap. At autozone it is $280.00. And you have to also buy a gasket for it and new intake manifold gaskets because to remove the throttle body housing which is connected to the manifold you have yo remove the manifold also. How in the world does gm expect us to be able to fix this issue if it's always so much money for parts for these cars. And i also have issues with my back tailgate and both big window motors. I have replaced one but still saving up to replace the middle one and i've also had issues with my gas tank which is $677.00 or more at the dealers for a new gas tank because u can't just fix the filler hose. Such failures will eventually kill someone. So i think Gmc needs to take a longer look at these Gmc Envoy Xuvs and get some recalls out to fix these dangerous problems. And honor all cars that come in no matter what. Because we had to fix the gas tank issue ourselves because we could not afford to buy a new gas tank.

2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER with 70000.0 miles

Had P0128 code for about 1 year. Replaced thermostat after P1680 code, reduced engine power light came on. Reduced engine power light went away on next crank up to move vehicle and change thermostat. Abs and brake lights both on intermittently. Tachometer has been sticking and speedometer showed erratic signs around 55 mph. Now all gauges going wacko or not working at all at times. Temperature gauge wrapped completely around without even starting cold engine. About a mile later, instrument panel lit completely up then went away, gauges reset, and ran fine with properly operating instrument panel... At least until i got home. Then wacko stuff again. Reset pcm by disconnecting battery cable, now things seem fine... For now. I'm told to redo bad ground on ecbm before suspecting bad abs module and to replace ignition switch before suspecting bad instrument cluster and pcm. However, dealer analysis said abs module got moisture in it and the instrument panel needs to be replace. First is a $1000 abs module, second is a $400 panel, both have labor charges additional.

2004 GMC ENVOY XUV with 94887.0 miles

In the process of making a left turn, (dead end - no oncoming traffic) the vehicle failed to get up to speed after depressing the accelerator in order to make the turn. A warning light came on that had never been seen before; it was the "reduced engine power" light along with the "service engine soon" light. The way was clear to put the vehicle in reverse and back into a gas station. A prayer was said before continuing on to the destination at hand with a trip to the dealership in the am. The vehicle was tested at the dealership with the "found code" P1680..Gas pedal shorting out. Pedal was replaced, retested, and approved without a recurrence of the code. Two months have passed without a recurrence so far. The total cost was $191.85. Thank god it didn't cost a life! The old part is available; teleflex 15187573 g03302 2 360-133143 passed made in mexico 400421 could not allow this to happen again or to others; repaired immediately due to dangerous to fatal consequences if turning left in front of an oncoming semi. This complaint is to inform others of a potentially dangerous situation regarding their gas pedal.
