2013 HONDA ACCORD with 212.0 miles

I was pulling away from a stop sign and had accelerated to about 15 mph. All of a sudden the car slowed down and stopped. I stepped on the accelerator and the car didn't move and the engine shut down. At the same time all the dash warning lights came on, including check engine, the big exclamation mark, anti-skid control, and the electric steering wheel warning light. I put the car in park and was able to restart the engine. At this time i noticed all the warning lights were still on, including the fcw light in the center of the speedometer with the message fcw failure. When the car was checked at the Honda dealership they could find no codes related to the above issues. They did find code dtc P2176 set for throttle actuator control not learned stored in history.

2013 CHEVROLET TAHOE with 104000. miles

While driving vehicle continues to drop into reduced power mode causing a jarring motion as it drops a significant amount of speed, almost causing multiple accidents. The check engine light comes on, traction control turns off, stabillitrack turns off, and engine goes into limp mode and starts shaking and jarring. The same 2 codes continue to come up in diagnosis. P2135 and P2176. I have taken the vehicle to three mechanics 1 of them being chevy its self. With no solution found. I have had the acceleration pedal replaced, the wiring replaced, the ignition switch and relay replaced had the throttle body connector replaced, the throttle body and gasket replaced 3 times. I have done everything recommended by all shops including chevy. Please help as the truck has been in the shop more then it has been on the road and i have almost been in multiple accidents as the truck is difficult to control when the issue happens.

2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE with 66729.0 miles

Vehicle had error messages, service traction control, traction control is off, service stabilitrax, engine power is reduced. Vehicle was slow to accelerate and experienced decreased speed. Vehicle vibrating while idling. Was told by dealer not to continue to drive the vehicle because others with same error messages stalled out while driving the vehicle, could not get the car restarted and had to be towed. The sudden slow acceleration and decreased speed are safety issues which need to be addressed by gmc before someone gets killed or seriously injured. Dealership said codes were P2176, P0121 and P0221 all related to tps sensor. Replaced throttle body, total cost $607.42. Not covered under power train warranty or extended warranty. According to a blog, in approximately 2009 gmc stopped covering the throttle body under the power train warranty even though vehicles manufactured after 2009 continue to have the same issues. Additionally, blogs indicate that even when the problem gets fixed by the dealer (at the owner's expense), the same issue tends to arise again. This issue needs to be addressed with a recall by gmc as soon as possible with the owner's duly compensated for any costs they may have incurred.

2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU with 3.0 miles

Update on complaint #'s 1144041 & 11172602. On 2/8/19, i was 2 blocks from work when messages displayed for (service ecs, reduced engine power, check engine light). I drove right from work to the dealership, which was 9 miles away, with my hazards on and at a max speed of 25 mph. I drove it into the bay and told a service advisor that i was told to bring it back while the problem we keep trying to fix was actually happening. He tried to get someone to come hook up the code reader to it but was unable to so he turned off my car. I received a voicemail mid-day monday 2/11/19 to say that because my battery had been out of my car too long, they had to relearn the throttle body assembly. I left a message to specifically say that the last time the battery had been out of my car to my knowledge was 3/2018. When they called back, their conclusion was that the battery had not been installed or secured properly which caused them to have to relearn the throttle body assembly. On 2/19/2019, it happened again but they could not read a code when i brought it in, so was again sent to come back when it was occurring so they could hook up the code reader while it was happening. On 3/5 i drove my car to them while it was displaying the messages and running rough. They again tried to put the blame on the battery. Even though the codes where P2176 and P2135, the recommended fix was new battery and battery cables ($733). I still had warranty for that battery as it was installed nearly a year ago after the first incidence, so i went back to that auto shop. He did not find anything associated to battery but did find gm bulletin from 2012 (piP5019). He re-crimped throttle body circuit pins after doing a pen out test at ecu. It is now 3/25 and no other issues! Hoping we have found root of the problem. No thanks to dealer or chevy customer care...

2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE with 74379.0 miles

Chevy Traverse 2010 with 74k miles. Driving vehicle on highway during morning traffic. Vehicle check engine light came on, service stabilitrak warning, traction control off warning, and reduced engine power warning. Vehicle suddenly reduced engine power from 65mph to 25mph. Pulled vehicle over and shut down engine. Turned vehicle back on and check engine light remained on and vehicle would not go past 25mph. Had vehicle towed to dealership service department. Codes were P0221, P0121, and P2176. Repairs done at dealership for faulty throttle position sensor. Not covered under warranty. Parts $270.82, labor $322.50, after taxes total was $614.99, prior to this incident it had occured on two other occassions; however the dealership service department was unable to duplicate the problem until this incident occured giving them the codes for the throttle position sensor. After reading post online it appears that my vehicle isn't the only one that has had this issue. Strongly recommend a recall be issued due to safety concerns since reduction of power engine can potentially result in a vehicle getting rear ended /hit from behind due to the sudden loss of power. *js

2009 HARLEY-DAVIDSON FLHX with 44688.0 miles

Harley davidson Flhx 2009 street glide we were on vacation leaving one town traveling to another and traveling on the interstate in the left hand lane moving with traffic, which was thick with cars, campers, trucks. All of a sudden i felt the motor cycle loose power, i glanced down and noticed the check engine light was on and i glanced in my right rear view mirror and there was a tractor trailer grill close. There was no shoulder on the left and i felt our lives threatened all i could do was motion with my hand my intentions of moving right to where there was safety away from traffic. The following codes i retrieved from my motor cycle: P1511 throttle actuator control power management mode, P2135 tps correlation error, P2176 tac close position not learned my motor cycle is bone stock and she has been serviced by harley all records and service are current. I drive my motor cycle daily weather permitting and i believe harley has been aware of this type failure since 2008 by the following links, http://www.Scribd.Com/doc/55139820/2008-later-touring-tt418-1 tt418: dtcs P2135 and P2101 theory and diagnostics november 3, 2009 the following link will show that the connecting pins have been known to fail since early 2008 but are only replaced when the problem arises not before placing the driver and passenger in danger of loosing their lives. Http://www.Box.Com/shared/ey21a590d6 the failed components box above will not take any info that i type into it, so i placed them into this box. Everyone that drives a motor cycle with this throttle by wire pin configuration should be notified by hd and have this issue resolved before their lives are placed in jeopardy by this type of failure. *js

2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA with 130000. miles

I am having problems with my 2009 chevy Impala, it started at 43k, the acceleration pedal was changed when the reduced engine power/service traction control came on. Then again at 100k same problem, this time the dealership told me it was a bad throttle position sensor, the throttle body needed to be changed. I changed it, but it came back again less then 3k miles. I replaced the throttle body again. 3k later same thing. The problem is when it is raining the throttle sensors go nuts. I took the car to advance auto and read the codes, same as before, P0121, P2176, throttle position sensor. Once in a while you can remove the batter lines and unplug the throttle body and mass air flow sensor to get it to restart. Other times you have to go to advance or autozone to clear the codes in order to get it to run long enough for a sunny day. I had one occurrence were the car would not start and it said service throttle position. The throttle sensor needs to be recalled before someone get killed. I have renamed my car to the ford Impala. Found on the road dead Impala.

2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA

Ongoing issue with error message relating to "service traction control" "reduced engine power" appeared 4/10/2016. Ongoing history and service related to throttle position and sensor (also serviced) codes P2176; p 2135. 8/1/15 i have addressed through replacing of throttle position and sensor; battery cable (dealership svc dept suggested low voltage related to this issue - retested, issue continues) parts store has suggested "throttle actuator control module p 1516' codes also include P0121, po2135, P2119 found pmc to be faulty -- "repair and replaced" 12/30/2014; throttle body assembly replaced on april 5, 2014. This has been an ongoing issue for two years. Engine power drops and car will only drive at a low speed < 40mph. This is when the car is in motion. Various attempts to resolve the problem have been unsuccessful. This issue began at apx 140k miles and has reoccurred at 166l, 167k, 180k, 193k. Speeds that it has occurred has been at highway speeds of 60-65mpg to residential 25-35mph. Records have services dates are available; too many to upload all.

Random engine stall, after engine is fully warmed up and high humidity (especially during raining). Obd ii code indicating P2135, P2119, P2176, P0638, P1101. (each time the obd ii code might be slightly different) the engine could stall during idle (stopping in front of red light), slow moving, or highway speed. Persisted since summer of 2012. Dealer already replaced throttle body, coil pack, spark plugs and ecm. Dealer could not reproduce the problem, and could not figure out a fix.
