PTO Speed Selector Sensor/Switch 1 Circuit Low

DTC P254C, sometimes indicated as P254C00 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the engine idling stability causing pto speed selector sensor/switch 1 circuit low.

This DTC code means that the PTO speed selector sensor/switch 1 circuit is low. This can be caused by a number of things, including a bad sensor, a wiring issue, a bad connection, or a bad ground.
If you have this code, first check the wiring and connections to the sensor. If everything looks okay, then check the sensor itself for damage or problems. If the sensor is bad, replace it. If the wiring or connections are bad, fix them. If the ground is bad, fix it.
