Shift Solenoid F Electrical

DTC P2709, sometimes indicated as P270900 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the causing shift solenoid f electrical.

The P2709 code is set when the PCM detects a problem with the shift solenoid F electrical circuit. This code is most commonly caused by a defective shift solenoid F, a wiring problem, or a problem with the PCM.
The shift solenoid F is responsible for controlling the hydraulic pressure that is used to shift the gears in the transmission. When this code is set, the transmission will not shift properly.
The first step in troubleshooting this code is to check the shift solenoid F for proper operation. If it is not functioning properly, replace it.
If the shift solenoid F is functioning properly, check the wiring for any damage or shorts. Repair any wiring problems as necessary.
If the PCM is defective, replace it.

2011 HYUNDAI SONATA with 109780. miles

Loud clunk noise will driving and car was stuck in 4th gear (limp mode) and check engine light turned on. Codes P0753, P2709 and P0758 revealed failure of 2 shift solenoids and line pressure solenoid due to transmission wire harness shortening out.
