On certain trucks, the hood anti-blowdown device (designed to prevent unintended and unexpected hood closure) can become hindered or inoperative due to unintentional latch movement which interferes with the hood pivot j-hook, latch misalignment, or latch fallout. an unintended latch closure can cause personal injury. correction: dealers will install hood anti-blowdown retention cables to the radiator and hood assemblies.
