CA Recall: Suspension
Issue: on certain fire trucks, the front shock absorbers may separate from their upper mounts. a loose shock absorber may contact and damage the steering gear housing, resulting in a steering fluid leak and loss of power steering assist. note: a loose shock absorber may cause a rattle or clunk noise from the front suspension or a change in vehicle handling. safety risk: a loss of power steering assist could increase the risk of a crash. corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a service center to inspect and repair the front shock absorber upper mounts.
