Bmw C600 Sport Maxi-scooter 2012

• Recall 103979 [USA]: An engine stall may increase the risk of a crash.
  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 c 600 sport maxi-scooter, and c 650 gt maxi-scooter motorcycles manufactured august 2, 2012, through february 18, 2014. In the affected motorcycles, the camshaft chain tensioner may not function properly, resulting in an engine stall.
  bmw will notify owners, and dealers will replace the camshaft chain tensioner, free of charge. Bmw distributed interim notification to owners on july 15, 2014. The recall is expected to begin in july 2014. Owners may contact bmw customer relations at 1-800-525-7417.

  The timing-chain tensioner is subject to wear because of a manufacturing defect . This means that gradually the timing chain is no longer adequately tensioned and as a result it slips its sprockets. If not rectified the engine could die while the vehicle is being ridden.

  The front brake hose may not have sufficient flexibility due to the position of the chafe guard. This may lead to chafing and eventually leakage of the brake hose. If leakage occurs stopping distance will be greater leading to a higher risk of collision.

  Rain/moisture may enter the side stand switch and cause the engine to cut out or not to start.

• Recall 2015527 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain motorcycles, the front brake hose could fatigue and crack due to tight left turning manoeuvres. The outer protective covering of the brake hose may kink due to excessive bending stress, causing the outer jacket of the brake line to crack, potentially resulting in a brake fluid leak. If brake fluid leakage occurs, the maximum front brake pressure may not be able to be applied. This would also increase stopping distances and could affect braking control, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the front brake hose with one of an improved design.

• Recall 2012404 [Canada]: Other
  On certain motorcycles, the fairing side panels can loosen and detach from the vehicle while it is traveling at very high speeds. A fairing panel separating from the vehicle could strike the rider or passenger, another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the fairing side panel fasteners.
