• Recall 41952 [USA]: Either circumstance may result in the vehicle rolling away without warning.
  On certain passenger vehicles, the floor shifter ignition-park interlock may fail and allow the shifter to be moved out of the park position with the key removed. An inoperative interlock may also allow the key to be removed when the shifter has not been placed in the park position.

  Vehicle description: passenger vehicles built with 3.5l engines. The fuel injection delivery system can leak fuel from some of the sealing o-rings or from hair line cracks in the thermoset fuel injection rail.
  dealers will replace the fuel rail o-rings and reinforce the outlet (passenger) side fuel rail. Vehicles showing fuel leakage on the outlet fuel rail must have the outlet rail replaced which includes changing the upper and lower injector o-rings. However, if a vehicle is leaking fuel from the o-rings or from a cracked fuel line, the vehicle should be taken into a dealer to have this repaired as soon as possible.

  On certain vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission and a floor-mounted shifter, the ignition-park interlock may become defeated and allow the shifter to be moved out of the park position with the key removed. An inoperative interlock may also allow the key to be removed when the shifter has not been placed in the park position. This may result in the vehicle rolling away without warning. Correction: dealer will inspect the function of the ignition-park interlock system. Vehicles found with functional interlock systems will have a load-limiting push rod installed into the floor shifter lever. Vehicles with a non-functional ignition-park interlock system will have the shifter assembly replaced.

• Recall 1999159 [Canada]: Suspension
  On certain vehicles, the lower control arm attaching brackets may crack due to fatigue and cause the lower control arm to separate from the engine cradle. If this occurs, the transmission half-shaft may pull out of the transaxle and result in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a motor vehicle accident. Correction: engine cradle will be reinforced at the point of attachment to the lower control arm.

• Recall 1998125 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  The "nitrile" rubber compound "o-rings" used to seal the interface of the fuel injector rail supply, return and cross over tubes may degrade and allow fuel to leak into the engine compartment. This could result in an engine compartment fire. Correction: the engine fuel rail will be replaced with a rail that contains the 1994 style fluorocarbon ""o-rings" at the fuel supply, return and cross over tubes.

  Note: vehicles equipped with 3.5 litre engine. The fuel injection delivery system may leak fuel from some of the sealing "o-rings" or from hairline cracks in the thermoplastic fuel injection rail. In the presence of an ignition source such a condition could result in a fire. Correction: the nitrile rubber "o-rings" will be replaced with "o-rings" made of an improved material. The fuel rail will also be evaluated and replaced as required.

• Fuel rail, brake fluid, chassis investigation as of 20041013

  On september 5, 2004, mr. Robert galenty of iselin, nj, petitioned the agency to conduct defect investigations of certain model year (my) 1993-1997 vehicles produced by daimlerchrysler corporation.His petition identified three issues of concern: 1) fuel leaking from the fuel injector rails; 2) brake fluid contamination resulting in brake failure; and 3) susceptibility of the vehicle frame to damage while the vehicle is being towed.Mr. Galanty alleged that his 1996 dodge intrepid had each of these three problems.Concerning fuel rail leakage, daimlerchrysler commenced a recall (98v-184) of approximately 722,600 vehicles to address engine fuel rail leaks that could lead to a fire, including those vehicles cited in the petition and the petitioners 1996 dodge intrepid.On october 7, 1998, nhtsa opened a recall query investigation (rq98-018) to evaluate the adequacy of the recall remedy.That investigation was closed on july 8, 2002 without requiring further action by daimlerchrysler.Very recently, on june 9, 2004, nhtsa denied a petition (rp04-001) to reopen rq98-018 after finding that there was no new information that would indicate any basis for reopening it.This is still the current position of nhtsa on this issue.Concerning brake fluid contamination and frame alignment, a review of nhtsas database shows no other complaints on either one of these issues on the vehicles cited in the petition.

• Auto trans ignition-park interlock investigation as of 20030717

  The manufacturer reports above are based on daimlerchrysler¿s (dc) analysis of model year (my) 1998 (population = 356,384) and 1999 (population = 486,948) ja, jx and lh family subject vehicle data (earlier mys excluded).The population number includes all mys.The precise number of duplicates between odi and dc reports cannot be determined due to missing or incomplete information.The fatality incident involved an elderly person who attempted to stop a roll away vehicle and received fatal injuries.Odi also gathered information on my 1997-99 prowler vehicles in this investigation. The prowler vehicles were manufactured with a different design shifter mechanism (the shift lever is shorter).There are no complaints of prowler interlock failure in odi¿s database, and dc has received no reports either.The prowler is excluded from the recall scope.The investigation involved a condition where the interlock system could fail (or be made inoperative by the operator) during vehicle use, possibly inadvertently.The interlock system is required under fmvss 114.With the transmission in the park position and the ignition key off, the combined action of pressing the shift button and pulling the shift lever rearward may result in the operator overcoming the interlock system and cause the mechanical linkage of the system to disconnect.When this occurs, there is no overt indication to an operator that the system is defeated, and an increased risk of vehicle roll-away exists.Under recall 04v021, dc will replace damaged shift mechanisms, and will install on all vehicles a device which inhibits the operator¿s ability to overcome the interlock and defeat the system.Beginning with my 2000, dc incorporated a brake and transmission shifter interlock (btsi) system into the subject vehicles.Introduction of btsi involved design changes to the shift mechanism, one of which resulted in reduced mechanical advantage (rma) of the shift button.The rma shifter requires increased forces to overcome the interlock system, making the shifter less susceptible to damage.

Sackey submitted a petition to the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) by letter dated april 18, 2003, requesting that nhtsafurther investigate the defective collapsible steering shaft system on 1987-1995 vehicles manufactured by the daimlerchrysler corporation.In part because of 49 cfr ? 30120(g), nhtsa has decided to limit the scope of the petition vehicles to 1993-1995 models, excluding the 1993 jeep grand cherokee and 1994-1995 dodge ram series trucks that were recalled (93v210 & 96v230) for steering column failure.If the analysis of these vehicles had identified a potential problem, the scope could have been expanded in an investigation.A review of odis data base shows no recent complaints and a lack of a complaint trend concerning the subject issue on the subject vehicles as a whole or by individual models.Therefore, the petition is denied.For details, see federal register notice volume 68, no. 130, july 8, 2003.

Steering linkage failure while backing into the drive way. Nothing would indicate there was about to be a failure. Linkage bolts sheered off. Total loss of steering. Called chrysler to see if they would pay for repairs and they said "im sorry mr. Anderson due to the warranty laps of the vehicle chrysler is unable to assist in repair of your steering linkage problems" my car is a 1993 concorde with 155k miles. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 1993 chrysler concorde. While driving between 2-5 mph, another vehicle crashed into the contact's rear driver side door. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver was wearing a seat belt, but sustained neck injuries. The vehicle was towed and is unable to be driven. The vehicle has not been inspected. The current and failure mileages were 107,034.

1993 chrysler concorde - 3.3 liter v6 factory installed options: power windows power locks power trunk release a/c cruise control anti-lock brakes (traction control option not installed) (power radio antenna not installed) (optional transmission cooler radiator installed) (all factory recalls were completed on this particular car) current ongoing issues with car: 1) horn randomly goes off in warmer weather (80 f +) due to possible steering wheel construction issues or computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue. 2) electric trunk door opens at random and when this occurs, the door locks open by themselves and the horn goes off due to possible computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue. 3) instrument cluster gages shut off during driving and when this happens the transmission will shift itself into 1st gear or into reverse while in city traffic or on the freeway (regardless of current speed) due to possible computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue. (this is usually fun to experience while on the freeway at 70 mph+)! Not! (rpms shoot up to over 6,000+) 4) instrument cluster does not work on engine start and when this occurs, the transmission is stuck in 2nd gear and will not down or up shift while driving until instrument cluster decides to work again due to possible computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue. 5) the front end was never in an accident, but, when i turn sharp to the right or left while parking or just pulling out of a driveway or onto a road from a parked position, the drive shafts or struts or arms themselves seem to shift and clunk very loudly (similar to a 40 lb. Sledge hammer being swung into your sub-frame in the front end). I have taken this car to 3 chrysler dealerships and 4 private garages and no one has figured it out. I replaced (2 front drive axles, 4 struts, stutt mounts, lower ball joints, tie rods, all rubber bushings in front end, rear sway bar and bushings).

Middle injector o-ring on left bank is leaking at the top. My car is a 1993 chrysler concorde and falls under recall id 98v184000. The recall was done once and i know that the o-rings are replaced as part of this recall so i took it to the dealership and they won't fix this and i don't understand why and they charged me $102 labor because they said it doesn't fall under the recall. As i understand this the o-rings were replaced and now there work has failed and they won't stand behind it. *nm

The fuel is leaking at the injectors on my 1993 concorde and there is a recall id # 98v184000 and i want to know why fairfield chrysler won't honor this. Don't they know that the car could catch on fire i could lose my family. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to start, and there was a strong smell of gasoline. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic shop, where it was determined that there was a crack in the fuel injection system. The upper plenum and all the o rings were replaced.

My daughter who is a new driver was driving on the highway when the car began to accelerate to around 90-95 mph, she hit the brakes and began to loss control of the car , it was raining and the roads were wet. While trying to avoid hitting another car she began to slide across the highway and hit the center barrier wall . She has a lot of bruising and scrapes luckily nothing major. The car was totaled. *jb

Dt: there was a leak in the fuel rail,, and while driving there was a fire in the engine compartment. There was a recall on this issue. The consumer was never notified about the recall. The recall information was found through a chrysler website, and consumer put in the last eight digits of the vin and they were included in the recall. The consumer's son contacted chrysler thirty times , and they advised the consumer to take the car to a dealer for repairs. The dealer confirmed there was fuel rail leak, and a new fuel rail would have to be installed, along with other wiring that was melted as a result. The consumer's son had an issue with the chrysler dealership, and wished to take vehicle away from chrysler dealership because he felt they were doing nothing about the problem. Chrysler agreed to fix the recall but first they wanted to investigate further. There was minor damage as the consumer smelled something odd and pulled over. Upon further investigation, the hood was raised. And a small fire came from the fuel rail. A bystander put out the fire with his hand, and the consumer drove the vehicle home about a mile down the road. *ak

I was pulling out of my parking spot, i had to turn the steering wheel almost all the way to the rite to get out. When my front tires came off the drive way( or curb) i heard a snap. My tires wouldnt move after that. The steeriing wheel would move but my tires wouldnt. I had to pay $150 to have it towed to a an auto shop ($50), have them look at it and tell me what had happened($70), and have it towed back($50). The auto shop told me that two bolts that hold the tie rods to the rack and pinion had snaped in half. They wanted $820 to fix it. I had them tow it back to my parking spot. I took the rack and pinion out myself and got the bolts out. I am still in the process of fixing this problem. My wife had looked online to see if this problem had happened to anyone else. She found that this has happened to quite a few people. I have a friend who ownes a 1994 dodge intrepid. My friend said the same thing happened to his car. He was driving when it happened to him, he lost control of his car and was hit by another car. My wife found a story of a couple of people that had this problem and it ended up taking the lives of there 18 yr old daughter and her boyfriend. I couldnt find a recall for it on your website. I dont know if you or the company's who have built these cars know of this problem. It would be much appreciated if it were investagaed. Before it takes anymore lives.

Dt: there was a recall on the passenger fuel rail because of 0-rings. Apparently the recall was only for the passenger side. Now, there is a crack on the driver's side, it is leaking. This is the third problem with the fuel rail.*ak *jb

Dt: consumer bought (1993 chrysler concorde five months ago. Took it to dmv, and noticed that there were less miles on it than was originally told. Then ,consumer realized that the odometer was going backwards. Went back to the dealer, and they told consumer that the dmv told them that after 10 years the miles on a vehicle did not matter. Also, they told the consumer that the best they could do was put in a new odometer, and simply set it for the amount of miles that they had told the consumer was there in the first place.*ak

Dealer had fixed recall c45 - floor shifter ignition/park interlock on 93 chrysler concorde. Picked up car from dealer and returning home at 40 mph (rt 124 md) when suddenly the engine hood pops open and slams against the front wind shield with a loud bang. Windshield not damaged. Somehow managed to pull the hood away from the windshield to be able to drive home. Hood distorted and crumpled. Hood shocks and hinges ripped. Hood suddenly opening was probably caused by defective hood lock. *ak

Dt: the contact stated upon starting the vehicle the heater automatically came on. The heater blew at maximum speed. The controls did not work, allowing him to adjust the heat settings. The heater will cut off after approximately 45 minutes. The dealer could not determine the cause of the problem. *ak

While shifting transmission pin shaft sheared off. This caused the vehicle to shut down. Consumer was unable to restart the vehicle, and towed it the dealer for inspection. Mechanic determined that transmission needed to be replaced. *ak

1. No gradual signs. One day, front end very unstable, shaking and wobbling - as if front end not aligned or bad tires / inflation. Steering the vehicle was a challenge & felt very unsafe. Same day, i took vehicle to tire store to have looked at, tires checked / rotated if needed. Replaced one rear tire that was soon to be needed and checked inflation on others, etc. 5:30pm, i was sent on my way. Car drove better it seemed - for approx. 4 miles. 2. 5:45pm - at red stop light, while waiting for light to change everything seemed fine with vehicle. Once light turned green, i was 2nd car in line to proceed... When i tried to accelerate forward, vehicle would not go. I thought may have stalled - no. It would just not go. I got out of vehicle while trying to direct traffic around me... Looked at front of car, nothing. Bent down to look at tires & both front tires were facing (turned) inward - towards one another. I have never seen a vehicle do this !!! Thank god i was stopped at a stop light when this happened. Had vehicle towed to mechanic and was told bolt connecting upper tie rod to rack is broken off in rack !!! 3. Estimate was given - however, i have a problem with bolts breaking on any equipment. Vehicle is unsafe and sitting in driveway. I think chrysler should have it repaired. Vehicle has 80,000 miles and is a 1993 concorde. *la

Chrysler concorde 1993 cruise control engages without being activated. On may 13, 2004, the cruise control was disconnected and the same thing happened:the cruise light came on and the car hesitates and shudders. After a second or two, the light goes off.*ak

On 09/11/03 i purchased a used 1993 chrysler concorde. About a month later the low fuel gauge and airbag lights started coming on, nd my tank is at least half full all the time. The problem is that i never know when the lights will come on and when they do, it causes the vehicle to sometimes stall and jerk violently as if i've been hit from the rear and gas fumes are so strong that i have to drive with the windows down. I took the car back to the dealership and spoke with private mechanics and explained it to them but noone could find any problem. I recently found a website listing persons with some of the same problems i've experienced with this vehicle and find it amazing that we haven't all become a fatality because of the many problems with it. I have a hood that won't stay up, a trunk that sometimes opens by itself, the gauges on the instrument panel goes off and the heater comes on at full speed, acceleration when changing gears from parking to drive and on and on. I understand that problems come with used cars but some of these issuses were there when the car was brand new and was recalled. I will be going to the dealership again, only this time i will have some of these issues in wirting and hopefully they can give me a better answer than. *ak "i found nothing" (except my money). Before this car i drove a 1994 plymouth acclaim which i bought in 1995. It served me really well for 8 years with me driving back and forth to my hometown in mississippi, sometimes twice a year. The adjustments made on it were normal for wear and tear after that long, and it did make some of the same noises as the concorde, but i don't think i'll be buying another chrysler vehicle after i trade this one. I pray that it doesn't catch fire or blow up before i can.

While driving, the vehicle stalled and smoke emitted from the vehicle. *ak

After having recall 98v130000 done for fuel seal, the problem reoccurred. Vehicle was occupied at the time of the incident.*ak the morning of the incident, consumer started the vehicle smelled of gasoline. Consumer drove the vehicle approx. 15 miles. Consumer opened the hood and gasoline was coming out of the motor. Consumer went to turn the key to turn on the defroster when the vehicle burst into flames. The brakes were also inoperative. *jg

The consumer observed rust along the left side seams of the trunk lid and perforation of the side of the rear of the trunk lid. *yh

The hydraulic line developed a hole due to rusting. The rust was cause by dripping of air conditioner condensation on the line. I have photo if desired. Dt

When backing out of driveway consumer noticed gasoline puddle. Vehicle was taken to dealer to have fuel line replaced. Apparently , leak was coming from a compressed seal where the flexible part of line and solid part of line met. *ak theconsumer had been smelling gas fumes for 2 weeks before the problem was found. Nlm

Gas leaking intermittently. Also, fuel odor inside of vehicle which makes consumer sick. Contact dealer, and dealer couldn't find where vehicle was leaking. *ak consumer had recall 98v13 and ever since then consumer has been smelling gas, dealer can not find where the problem is coming from. *slc

Vehicle stalls at any speed/any time. Took vehicle to mechanic 4 times, cannot find problem. *ak

While driving 25 mph, the vehicle caught on fire. Recall 98v184000 was done on fuel o rings, took to dealer and dealer indicated fire was caused by oil on motor.*ak consumer states she had been smelling gas for about 7-8 days prior to the fire, consumer feels that the fire started around the fuel rail o-ring. *jb

Passenger's side airbag cover came off.*ak 3 window switches have been replaced. Consumer replaced complete air conditioner unit. Driver side safety belt was replaced. *slc

Left fuel rail leaked significant quantities of gas when under pressure. Fuel rail assy and #4 injector were replaced by dealer at a cost exceeding $700. The fuel rail o'ring recall was completed this car in 1999. There have been numerous complaints of this fuel-rail leaking problem submitted to the nhtsa. Due to the extreme hazard, this problem should have been a recall and a no-cost repair. I hope a recall is forthcoming soon to replace the fuel rail assy. Fuel rail leak was not caused by injector although one injector was replaced during repair.

Hood switch is defective. When consumer lifts hood up it will not stand up on its own. Hydraulic lift is leaking, and mechanic told consumer that reason that hood was broken was because he didn't use hood enough. *ak the consumer stated that it was unsafe to check anything under the hood. *yh

Rack and pinion broke into 2 separate pieces, causing consumer to lose control of steering and the wheels to lock, vehicle came to rest after rolling off the road into a ditch, there were no injuries. *slc

The passenger bucket seat, inboard seat-track is broken. This causes the inboard side to be loose. The inboard seat assy can move several inches up/down. This problem seems similar to the one described in a chrysler "customer satisfaction notification" wherin the inboard pivot bracket was to be replaced on the drivers seat. In what may be a related problem the fore/aft power seat motor is either burned out or defective. In short, the passenger bucket seat track assy. Is defective and unsafe. The dealer parts department states that the entire seat track assy. Must be replaced at a cost of $450 or so in parts alone. In that the passenger seat is unstable and that the problem is a defect in materials or design, i believe that this problem should be grounds for a recall and no cost repair. In addition, both passenger and driver seat tracks have had 6 inch plastic guides break and come loose from the track assy. This causes the seats to be mildly unstable and loose.

While driving rack and pinion steering broke which caused wheels to lock up, resulting in loss of vehicle control. *ak the consumer states the rack and pinion were defective and should be replaced by the manufacturer without charge. *yh

Consumer is having a problem with recall id 98v130000/manufacturer's recall787. Vehicle is still leaking gas. Mainly, in the morning there's a smell of gas. Also, when lifting hood one can see gas coming from injectors. Each time vehicle is broght into dealer, they tried to fix it basically because they knew it was a problem. *ak

Chrysler transmission is defective as evidenced by many other entries / complaints. Information gathered from website (defective chrysler transmission). It is unacceptable to allow a major corporation to continually bilk the consumer out of 1000's of dollars. This defect is known by the manufacturer and has even been 'hidden' by the convenient renaming of the transmission.*ak

Consumer took vehicle into dealer for a leak, and found out that there was a recall on the fuel rail. Dealer replaced fuel rail.*ak

This car has had 2 transmission failures previously repaired while under warranty. I have notified the dealer of problems getting the car in gear at times and they found no problems. The axle finally broke and the frame ripped which a feel is a direct result of the previous problems. No accidents involved.

While driving air conditioner compressor locked up, causing the fan belt to burn up. Driver was able to pull to the shoulder of the road safely. The dealer was called about the problem. The problem has not been corrected. Please provide any further information. *ak

First the headlight lenses clouded over; had to be replaced. Then the injector shot fuel on the engine, car caught fire; $3600 in damage. Then the rearview mirror fell off thrice; bought a new one. The car constantly runs hot since last year; replaced cooling block; now it only runs hot when idling or in stop-n-go traffic; have to run the heater to keep it from overheating; mechanic cant find the cause; ac temp changes from cool to tepid when car idles at a traffic light; once car begins to move, air retuns to cool. The overhead computer just quit, as well as the electronic climate control unit(ecu); ecu replaced. When outside temp drops around freezing car has a banging noise underneath, until it warms up. Remote door locks quit working within 2 years of ownership.

This is an ongoing, intermittent problem that started approx. 6-12 months ago and has steadily worsened. The steering wheel vibrates rapidly up and down, and generates a loud machine-gun like noise. This occurs intermittently and lasts anywhere between 0 - 15 seconds. It can occur on smooth as well as bumpy roads. It generally happens on local roads at speeds between 35 - 40 m.Ph. Don't know if this problem is related to lower control arm attaching brackets that are the subject of the nhtsa campaign no. 99v215000. Have not received any notification of recall, but am anxiously awaiting notice so that i can bring in my car to the dealer only once to look at both probelms.

Steering wheel would vibrate up & down in driver's hand, rapidly. This happens when going 35-45mph. The road can be eigher smooth/ bumpy or rough. The problem is intermittent. Will be taking vehicle to dealership to check. *ak

In the 2 years i've owned this vehicle it has been plagued with problems. Transmission failed without warning, just a loud bang then like it dropped into neutral. The air conditioner evaporator was replaced in 1995 by a prior owner and again by me in 1998. The air conditioner compressor failed in 1999. I was able to obtain a partial repair history of a prior owner which shows work was done between december 96 and september 97 that includes 3 repairs to the transmission and 2 repairs to the air conditioning. I was very lucky not to have had a very serious accident on the highway when the abs traction control came on and stuck, the vehicle shook violently and i lost speed quickly in the outer lane of a 4 lane highway, the dealer says the cab module needs to be replaced. Other numerous problems include dim headlights, wipers do not clear the driver's window properly, replaced brake rotors and pads twice, ill fitting trim inside, a/c leaks in the passenger compartment, rattles over rough roads that the dealer can't find and insufficient windshield washer spray just to name a few. Chrysler has a huge problem with quality.

This problem is reconized on this site as a recall on both the 3.3l as well as the 3.5l engines. I took the car to the dealer and the dealer states that they will not fix the car because it is not on recall yet. I was told that it was a 597 dollar charge. I was also told that the car was not safe to drive because fuel is leaking on the engine. I took a printed report from this website to the dealer showing the recall, and was told that they would not fix the problem. I am at a loss at to what to do. I can not afford to fix something that should be fixed for free under the recall, and i cannot be without my vehicle. Please advise me at to what to do now.

Fuel rail assembly failed.

The air conditioner suddenly stopped working and was diagnosed with a failed evaporator coil. I questioned how an evaporator coil could fail, since in my experience having owned more than 80 vehicles i have never heard of an evaporator coil just failing for no apparent reason. I was informed that the materials used to manufacture the evaporator coil are subject to corrosion and rapid failure when the system is charged with r-134 refrigerant. Those systems that failed prior to reaching 70,000 miles were replaced free of charge by the manufacturer, but no attempt was made to notify customers that there was a problem with the components unless the system actually failed. Those of us who had these failures occur after the 70,000 mile cutoff are faced with approximately $1,000 in repair costs. The really terrible part about this is that the dealer informed me the system will probably fail again within 2 years and there is no better component available to eliminate this problem. He also indicated that this is not a problem unique to chrysler, rather all manufacturers are experiencing similar problems after switching to the new refrigerants. It appears that the consumers have been duped again.

Driver smelled gasoline while driving, discovered fuel rail failed causing gas to leak out of the engine.

Filter for the catalytic converter broke apart and clogged the catalytic converters causing overheating of the converters which melted the egr valve and fused joints of the exhaust manifold pipe.

Door locks depositioned by themselves. Also occurs while driving or parking they always make a loud noise, and when cutting off the vehicle, the locks will pop up and down. Contacted dealer for repairs. *ak

The vehicle experienced tire problems due to the defective alignment. Also electrical problems with the horn/ door locks, the fuse blow out. While downshifting vehicle will lurch forward about 1-2 feet which could cause an accident. Dealer wants to rebuild transmission. Chrysler is conducting a bullentin at customer's cost. *ak *nlm

The helena chrysler dealership made all repairs to the fuel rail. There was a fuel leak from the fuel rail--the fuel rail was replaced as well as "o" rings and gaskets. I did contact the chrysler corp. However they said they were unable to help me and refused to comment on the extreme safety issue. And at the time of the phone call april, 1998 i had to take my car back to the dealership and have the same 'o' rings and gaskets replaced because the intake manifold gaskets failed. I called to find out if there had been any recalls for my car and if any were associated with the fuel rail. At that time there wasn't a recall. I would appreciate any help you can provide and if i can be refunded any money for repairs that would be great!!

At low speed 20mph in parking lots or heavy traffic with a/c on all gauges the instrument on panel would go off immediately and the heater comes on blowing at full speed. Took the vehicle to dealer no warranty for electrical problems. They said vehicle needed a new ignition switch. Replaced at consumer cost. Also while driving on highway abs light came on and stayed on, and the wheels locked up at heavy braking. Dealer's response no warranty, diagnosis showed it needed new computer. 3 months later, abs came on intermittently. Dealer said it needed abs brake relay, emercency brake inoperative (1993), evaporator core ruptured, head gasket warped from overheating causing leakage. *ak

Manufacturer contacted and they offered to split the cost of replacement. I have the info and will furnish if requested. Primarily the two front seats operate but seem to be loose. I also have the parts that broke off.

When left front seat or right front bucket seat are move backward or forward the small plastic inserts about 6 to 8 inches long will fall out and the seat will woble when you drive, something must be wron with the switch that cause the back rest to recline toward the rear seat.

The door locks release from the locke dposition by themselves. Also, occurs while driving or when vehicle is in parking lot. In addition, horn goes off beeping/blaring while driving on highways. *ak

When taken to dealer, dealer stated that the fuel rail was leaking and replaced on 3/15/97 at cost to the owner. About 3 months later, owner began to smell gas again, and gas mileage dropped as well.
